TOM ASHBOURNE
SSC SCA OSA | WWW.TOMASHBOURNE.COM
Canadian sculptor Tom Ashbourne naturally thinks in 3D, and stone is his primary medium. Listening to the stone as he works, Tom seeks its true essence as a contemporary abstract sculpture.
Tom Ashbourne's works showcase compelling shapes, graceful curves and lines, positive and negative space, and intriguing points of interest. He skillfully enhances the features and richness of the natural colors in the stone, amplifying their beauty through texture, light, and energy.
In Tom's words, "Artists are at one with the art we create. Everything we create is a sum of all our experiences, how we see the world, and what we feel is aesthetically pleasing and visually interesting. My sculptures are an expression of my life, artistic influences, and my perspective on what makes a successful sculpture."
In addition to the Emerald ARTYA award, Tom's talent has been recognized by major international awards, including DESTIG magazine's "Best Artists of 2020"; ATIM's 2021 "Collectors Choice "award; World Biz magazine's "Artists to Collect in 2021"; and American Art Awards "Best Non-Representational Sculptors after in the World (2021). His sculptures have been exhibited in the world's top juried art shows, including the London (UK) Biennale and the Florence (Italy) Biennale.
