Bob Stakeley will give you “57” reasons to visit this impressive museum and education center which has been a part of Pittsburgh since 1996. A light dinner is included starting at 5:30 pm.

Laurel Highlands Ambassador Program Monday, 16 March 2020 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm Perryopolis Pennsylvania Plans for Washington’s Grist Mill With Norene Halvonik Did you know that Perryopolis has a grist mill that was once owned by George Washington? The original mill was built for George Washington . The building started in 1774, the completion was delayed until 1776 because of the Revolutionary War and trouble with hostile Indians. Come and learn about this grist mill and the plans that the Perryopolis Parks & Recreation Board has for this site!

Laurel Highlands Ambassador Program Monday, 23 March 2020 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm Touchstone Center for Crafts Lindsay Gates – Executive Director Touchstone Center for Crafts is a unique three-seasons craft school located 60 miles southeast of Pittsburgh in the beautiful mountains of the Laurel Highlands, near Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater, Ohiopyle State Park, and Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. Learn about their history and see what they have planned for 2020! Founded in 1972 as Pioneer Crafts Council, Touchstone's original mission was to foster interest in the preservation of traditional crafts. Today, this unique craft school has expanded to include contemporary and experimental techniques in disciplines such as blacksmithing, ceramics, metals & jewelry, glass, drawing & painting, and special topic areas. As Pennsylvania's premier craft school, Touchstone offers beginning and seasoned artists 1-5 day workshops taught by some of North America's finest artisans.

Laurel Highlands Ambassador Program Monday, 30 March 2020 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm Prohibition with Aaron Hollis West Overton Museum Prohibition was a nationwide ban on the sale and import of alcoholic beverages that lasted from 1920 to 1933. Protestants, Progressives, and women all spearheaded the drive to institute Prohibition. Aaron will take us through this time in history, a time that most people wanted to forget!

Kentuck Knob Welcome to Frank Lloyd Wright’s House on Kentuck Knob, where architecture and sculpture are seamlessly integrated into the beautiful landscape. Located in the Laurel Highlands of western Pennsylvania, Kentuck Knob, an excellent illustration of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Usonian architecture, is embraced daily by visitors from all parts of the globe. We invite you to come on down and learn more about all that Kentuck Knob has to offer.

Yough River Trail Council Learn about the Adventure with Ted Kovall The YRTC is responsible for the 23 mile section of the Great Allegheny Passage trail from Layton through Connellsville to Bruner Run just outside of Ohiopyle - essentially most of the Fayette County section.

Erica will be telling us about the interesting history of Fort Ligonier and their sister site Braddock’s Battlefield History Center. If you have not been to Fort Ligonier or Braddock’s Battlefield History Center, this is your chance to learn about these two fantastic sites. Start your journey here at the Connellsville Canteen and be transported back to the late 1700’s!

Uniontown Art Club This year the Uniontown Art Club will be celebrating their 93rd Anniversary. It’s the oldest continuous art club in Fayette County and possibly in the Southwestern Pennsylvania region! Club President Stephanie McCLain, Vice President Jessica Lotman and Treasurer Pete Pasqua will be on hand to discuss all the great things that are going on with the club and Gallery 86.

They will be here talking about past projects and give you a rare glimpse into the future of the organization!

Roosevelt The Gibsonia resident has between 20,000 and 25,000 items of campaign- and presidential-related paraphernalia he has collected over 50 years! At this presentation, Steve will talk about the campaign of Franklin D. Roosevelt, one of the war time Presidents.
