How to Migrate Data from Smaller Disk to Larger Disk?
With the “Volume transformation” technology of PC Disk Clone, PC Disk Clone can migrate data from larger disk to smaller disk or vice versa when the size of both of the disks is near. Let’s take the migrating data from smaller disk to the larger disk for example. We can prepare the job as follows:
Step 1 Open your PC Disk Clone and click the “Disk to Disk” button on the main menu.

Step 2 Let’s take the two disks in the following picture for an example. We can see “the source disk” with the size of 350GB is smaller than “the destination disk” with the size of 500GB. When you get into the interface of “Disk to Disk”, you can prepare the job as follows: First, select the smaller disk as source disk. Second, select the larger disk as the destination disk. Third, select “Used Only” if you want to save space and select “Shadow Copy” if the source disk is the operating system’s disk. Fourth, when you have already making sure all the selections are correct, click the “Start” button to begin.

Remove all the partitions of the target disk so that PC Disk Clone could start the job. To know more about how to remove the partitions of disk by clicking here.

After we remove all partitions of the destination disk, the disk list should show there is “0� partition contained in the disk.

Step 3
If the target disk is already empty, click “YES” to start the Disk to Disk Task.

Step 4 When the program start to migrate, with the “disk partition expand” technology of PC Disk Clone, the partition table of the smaller disk would expand pro rata to form the larger disk’s partition table, and no disk space would be wasted by doing this. And when the percentage of migration progress reaches 100%, you can find that the destination disk with larger space and correct data would be the one you needed.
