From the Principal’s Desk Dr Arun Kumar Sinha The summers in Jharsuguda is punishing. The mercury level tends to reach mid‐forties and, anticipating these levels, the district administration notified all the schools to have summer vacation till 21 June 2015. We also felt the importance of this and followed the directive; the school was reopened after vacations on 22nd June as against 16 June which was initially planned. Lots of activities took place before the vacations – Utkal Divas, Moments with Mom, Sensory Day, Earth Day and Quiz Competition. The Pre‐School got its designated cluster with complete set of study materials from 22ⁿ June onwards. Separate Play Area, Fun Stations and Courtyard are some of the integral features of each of this cluster. The facilities are custom and tailor made to meet day‐to‐day needs of the little ones.
School uniforms were issued to the students during the vacation. We have tried keeping the uniform vibrant, colorful and choice‐based for the students. As grown‐ups, we wear different clothes of various colors everyday and that's the reason we have kept our uniform flexible. The students are free to wear T‐Shirts of any color of their choice through the week. The primary section (Class I – V I) students need to wear shirt on every Wednesday. We have started offering Dining Facilities to our Primary Students from 22ⁿ June. The sumptuous food is being prepared in campus and served hot to our students. We look forward for your feedback on various activities and continued support in improving the services towards your ward. The same can be emailed to: feedback@aparna.edu.in

Events held at Aparna World School 1. Utkal Divas (Main Campus) Aparna World School celebrated Utkal Divas in Main Campus on Wednesday, 1 April. Teachers from both – City and Main Campus participated in the celebration. The celebration started with the state anthem “Bande Utkal Janani” recited by our teacher – Mrs Pragyan Priyambada. The event was carried forward with Utkal Quiz competition and a presentation on Importance of the Day and Odisha's Festivals, Monuments, Cuisine, Culture and Heritage. The emphasis of his talk was on providing quality education to the students of Aparna World School and to focus on creating responsible citizens.
2. Sensory Day (City and Main Campus) Sensory Day was celebrated in both our campuses on Friday, 10th April for Pre‐Primary children. Children learn and retain most of information when they engage their senses. These skills are not just about learning in theories; it puts the child in the practical sphere of life and enables them to see, feel and process various changes happening around them. Imagine explaining melting to a child without allowing them to hold an Ice Cone which will melt in their hand! Some of the most common Sensorial Skills taught in our school include Cognitive Skills, Creative Skills, Linguistic Skills and Fine Motor Skills On Sensorial Day, we focused on developing Taste, Touch, Smell, Sight, Light and Sound skills of the children.

Abraham Lincoln once said – “All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my Angel Mother”. This sentence sums up the role of the mother for a child; a person who is the generation maker who takes up numerous hardships and challenges to raise a child. Moments with Mom event was organized to celebrate the presence of Mother in every child's life and a small way to thank the mothers for their support. We celebrated the day by gifting Welcome Card to Mothers, Dancing and Playing Games with them. The event was closed with the questionnaire “Who Am I” where the mothers had to identify their child using some clues prepared in advance by the teachers.
