An Evening of History and Politics with
Roy Hattersley
Thursday 4 March 2010, 7pm Mumford Theatre, Anglia Ruskin University, East Road, Cambridge, CB1 1PT Roy Hattersley, the distinguished politician, historian, journalist and broadcaster, will be returning to Anglia Ruskin University for a special evening of history and politics organised by the Labour History Research Unit in Cambridge. He entered Parliament in 1964 and went on to serve in each of Harold Wilson’s governments and in James Callaghan’s Cabinet. In 1983, he became deputy leader of the Labour Party and received a peerage in 1997. Roy Hattersley is a prolific broadcaster, writer and newspaper columnist. His recent acclaimed publications include The Edwardians and Borrowed Time: The Story of Britain Between the Wars. His new biography of David Lloyd George will be published in 2010. This special occasion will open with a talk by Roy Hattersley, followed by contributions from the floor. Chair: Professor Michael Thorne, Vice Chancellor Anglia Ruskin University
