academic year.
What financial assistance is available towards tuition fees? Student Loans
Eligible full-time home and EU undergraduate students can defer payment of tuition fees by taking out a Student Loan. The loan will cover any amount up to the full amount of your tuition fees.
Repayment will usually be made automatically through the tax system and you have up to 25 years to repay your loan. The rate of repayment is linked not to the size of the loan you have taken out, but to your actual income. Interest rates on the outstanding amount will be held in line with the rate of inflation so that, in real terms, you will be repaying only what you borrowed. If you choose not to apply to defer payment of your tuition fees, then you need to pay either in full or by instalments. For more information on fees and loans click: www.anglia.ac.uk/studentfinance

Your £500 can be spent on books, a laptop computer or digital equipment from John Smith’s bookshops on campus and online, or you can put it towards University-owned accommodation expenses or nursery facilities.

They also manage a ‘Studentpad’ database that advertises private sector accommodation in Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough. Please contact us for access details. If you have not made accommodation arrangements in advance of your arrival then we recommend that you book into a Bed and Breakfast or Hotel for a few days so that you have a base from which to search for more permanent accommodation. Information on short-term accommodation is available on our website.
The UAS office can provide you with a ‘House Hunting Guide’ and a list of letting agents in the private sector. In Cambridge we also organise house-hunting events during the summer, both before and after A Level results.
