CONCEPT
COEXIST - The basic idea is to not destroy the Marshland Ecosystem in place and to embrace the nature in the site. - It also helps in hiding the building within the woods and also reduce the visual impact of the surrounding. - Designing according to the Marshlands topography opens up views.
JOURNEY - Large Openings to views of the surrounding keeps the users connected with nature around. The boundary between the built and the nature is blurred. - Buildings, museums, and nature remain interconnected throughout making the landscape in the site a live exhibition to experience. OUTDOOR CUM INDOOR SPACE - The museum can open to trees like a courtyard where visitors can see live birds flying in and out. 9
PUL-AGAM
ISSUES ADDRESSED LOOSE SOIL - To address the loose soil in the site Pile Foundation is used for the structure. Laying a normal Pile foundation in an environment like this causes a lot of vibration and disturbance in the surrounding so using Screw Pile Foundation reduces the pollution and keeps the environment intact. Floating slab is used to reduce moisture and to not disturb the ground as no footer trenches are laid.
STEEL COLUMNS
FLOATING
SLAB
BEAM PILE CAP SCREW PILE
FLOODING OF WATER - The flooding in these regions is very common and the issue has to be addressed. The height of the plinth can be raised and water can be let to flow below it. The water drains to the nearby Buckingham Canal but the recently done Highway clogs the water disturbing the water flow. A safety height of 1.5m has been risen from the ground.

- The area of the site is 6 acres which helped in breaking the huge mass into smaller components so that the built form doesn’t disturb or scare away the birds in the marshland. - The project has an Educational institution to host Ornithology, a study of birds to accommodate students and create interest among younger generations about birds - It also has a Museum that helps people coming to the site to understand and learn about the endangered and extinct birds and their impact on them. - It has a Cottage and tent huts facility to accommodate tourists who come to view birds as the best time to view birds are early mornings and evenings.

PREFACE The main aim of the project was to create farms that produce a high level of yield with minimal resources addressing the need for Nutritious and Fresh food for the people in the ward. GREEN SCHEDULE
India is going to meet “Day Zero” on food and it’s high time we shape cities for the future population which is expected to rise to 1.5 Billion by 2030. There were about 97 million hectares of Farm Lands which were degraded in the past 10 years or so. It adds up to 30% of the Farm Lands in India. 82% of the people going hungry in the world live in countries with food surplus and not food shortages.
WHY in WARD - 85? (Doddanekundi, Bangalore)
- A ward with a lot of youth and health-conscious citizens living has been cramped up with High rise buildings and the food intake is more compared to the food being produced. - About 1/3rd of the food is wasted. And the major waste is because of spoilage. Spoilage happens due to the transport of the Fruits and Vegetables which takes 1-2 days to reach local markets. - Can employ the slums nearby as most of the people are from rural places. There are 5 slums in our ward and 3 of them are nearby lakes. - Reducing transport charges as food products are available locally. Freshness is also lost. - Can reduce Garbage disposal as food waste can be used as manure for agriculture. - Agriculture can be done near Lakes as the greywater can be treated to a level where it can be used for Agriculture. - Markets can also be proposed as part of the vegetation to boost farmer and consumer connection to reduce prices. People who cannot go to branded shops can come to these markets for nutritious food. - It can be developed as a practice in the local which could further expand people to plant more trees and do agriculture in their balconies.
GREEN SCHEDULE
32
From the available 9 sites in the ward the site near Doddanekundi Lake which offered space to design an Urban Farm was selected.
DODDANEKUNDI LAKE The largest in our ward. The lake is filled with water but cannot be used at all. The natural slope is towards the lake making it a reliable water source. The residential development around the lake can be looked into as an advantage as vegetables and greens are in constant need here. The lake is fenced all around with security in charge. The garbage disposed around the lake causes a lot of pollution around the lake. The North part of the lake is almost not accessible as the part is mostly known for the snakes and for people doing illegal smoking activities. It is a major Fear Locale in the surrounding.

PREFACE The projects brief was to design an Interior office space in a 3 floors building. The office space required a co-working environment with relaxing spaces.

INSIDE OUT CONCEPT Workspace is the most important space as one’s life depends on these spaces and the outcomes of his life depend on the work and life he has here. Everyone in the world loves nature and they grow and prosper with it. A picture of relaxation has nature in it majorly. The main idea was to bring focus, the feel of relaxation and interest in an otherwise boring workspace existing now. The feel of openness in the planning and the freedom in sitting postures gives a relaxed and feel like home surrounding. With height-adjustable chairs and tables to make an employee concentrate and focus more on work for a longer period of time, the offices can produce better quality products. The Layout has been planned to create more interaction. The vendor zone near the pantry can also be used as a gathering or a spill out space for the employees during after work hours. The circular tables can spark interactions and idea exchanging sessions. OFFICE SPACE
