PORTFOLIO ARUSYAK MANVELYAN
Creativity is directly connected to self awareness. Honesty and trust to oneself is an ultimate way to it. Creating means expressing one’s inner world, giving it a form and observing it as a separate entity. Architecture gives me infinite space to form my ideas, create my beliefs and principles. It challenges me to push my borders and constantly improve myself.

Berlin Big Data Centre (BBDC) is a facility for big data storage systems, their analysis and representation. It is located close to the main subway station and next to the northern harbor in Berlin. BBDC consists of 3 parts; a data storage facility, a research institute of big data analytics (private) and an education center (public). The data is collected from three main sources (social networks, business systems and internet of things) and organized in separate storages. Lastly, the data is analyzed by scientists and researchers and made available to the public.

WePad is a vertical display panel installed in different areas of Basel. It provides a feed of real-time data of the city, such as traffic, weather, news etc. The display panel is also connected to a database of experts in various fields, giving its users the option to formulate questions to an expert of their choice. WePad is charged by solar panels that are located on its roof. It has one display on each side and a beamer. Experts who want to present their projects can upload files to the panel and project them on a nearby wall. They can add profiles and access other people’s profiles through the panel. They also can see real-time data represented in different ways and navigate themselves better in the city.

1. Disassembling the pallet
Thinkbox/L+ZT is an urban project located in Træna, Norway. It consists of two sets of benches built from recycled materials. The local community donated 80 pallets that were disassembled and cut. The separate parts were then assembled in a crisscross pattern and turned into different forms of benches. Those benches were combined in two sets, both in vertical and horizontal positions. One set of benches is located at the harbor, while the second set is around the bay.
