About Our Elementary School Program
Learning in ASB's Elementary School is transformative, fostering independent and critical thinking, creative problem-solving, perseverance, and responsible citizenship in every student. Utilizing the IB Primary Years Program (PYP) and the Science of Reading, teachers focus on developing inquiry, collaboration, and agency across the curriculum Our balanced program that emphasizes whole child development empowers learners to thrive academically and make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world
What You Will Do?
Teaching & Learning
● Use inclusive, evidence-based instructional strategies to promote inquiry, creativity, and agency
● Design hands-on, transdisciplinary learning experiences that connect with real-world concepts and students' interests
● Embed social-emotional learning and develop students through the IB Learner Profiles attributes and Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills
● Teach evidence based and structured literacy instruction based on the Science of Reading, focusing on phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension
● Leverage technology and digital tools to enhance learning and engage today’s digital-native students
● Provide differentiated instruction through multi-tiered interventions to meet the needs of all learners
Fostering Community
● Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom culture where all students feel a sense of belonging.
● Build meaningful relationships with students, families, and colleagues
● Embrace informal moments like recess and lunch as rich opportunities for relationship-building and social learning
● Leverage Mumbai’s vibrant culture to help students engage with their wider community
Collaboration & Professional Growth
● Work closely with specialist teachers and grade-level teams to create integrated learning experiences.
● Actively reflect on teaching practice, participating in mentorship and coaching opportunities, professional learning communities, and team collaboration
● Stay current with educational research to keep your teaching practice fresh and relevant
● Share insights and collaborate using data to ensure students are supported holistically

Planning & Preparation
● Develop and document engaging units using school-specific tools and platforms
● Use flexible, team-based planning tools to stay organized and aligned with school goals
● Create opportunities for students to showcase their learning and celebrate their achievements
Learning Environment
● Create flexible and responsive classroom spaces that inspire creativity and support diverse learners.
● Showcase student work, learning journeys, and progress in ways that reflect the values of our school community
● Use positive behavior strategies, such as the Responsive Classroom model, to build a sense of safety and support
Assessment & Communication
● Monitor student progress with multiple assessments and provide timely, constructive feedback.
● Document student growth through portfolios, goal-setting, and reflective practices
● Build strong relationships with families through regular communication, Parent-Teacher Conferences, and Report Cards
● Celebrate student successes and proactively communicate areas for growth with families
Who We’re Looking For? The ideal candidate will bring:
● A Bachelor’s degree and teaching certification from an accredited institution
● Experience with inquiry-based learning or the Primary Years Program (PYP)
● A deep understanding of child development and early childhood education best practices
● Early-career teachers with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
