Attendance is required at both rehearsal and commencement unless the graduate has notified the Registrar in writing that their degree will be received in absentia. If you have any questions, please email registrar@asburyseminary.edu.

Caps and Gowns

Caps and gowns will be available through Student Services from April 29 until Noon on Friday, May 17. If you indicated on your graduation application that you will be attending the ceremony, rental academic attire is required and was ordered for you based on the information supplied on your graduation application. Gown rental is $69.95 plus tax for graduate students and doctoral students. Regalia rentals will be charged automatically to your student account. Gowns must be returned to Students Services before leaving the church following graduation. A $20 daily fee will be charged to your student account until the regalia is returned. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact Ingrid McLennan at 407.482.7570 or email fl.student.services@asburyseminary.edu.

Commencement Childcare

Childcare reservations for commencement must be made by Monday, May 6. If childcare is needed, contact Dan McKinley at dan.mckinley@asburyseminary.edu with your reservation. Childcare is limited to children age three and younger.

Diplomas

Actual diplomas will not be in your folders at commencement. When all grades are entered and records are cleared, degrees will be posted to transcripts and diplomas mailed. Please allow four to six weeks processing time from the end of the term in which you graduate. Please be sure to provide the Registrar’s Office with a current address. You may update your address in AIS > Biographical or by emailing registrar@asburyseminary.edu.

Grades

Grades will be posted as soon as they are submitted and may be accessed through oneATS. Grades will not be released over the phone or by fax. Official transcripts can be requested by logging into oneATS and going to AIS > Student (or Alumni) > Order Official Transcript. Transcripts can also be requested in person at the Office of the Registrar on the Kentucky Campus or at the Student Services office on the Florida Dunnam Campus. Official transcripts may be requested in advance and held until degree is posted.

Photographs

Individual professional photographs will be taken of graduates. Proofs will be available on the photographer’s website. Further instructions will be given at rehearsal.

Information Services

Seminary graduates will automatically be transitioned to the Alumni version of oneATS and retain their Seminary email addresses. The ATLAS library database will continue to be offered as a resource for research needs. Please contact information.commons@ asburyseminary.edu if you have any questions.

Dear Graduate, Congratulations are in order as you come to the conclusion of your ministry preparation at Asbury Theological Seminary. Much has occurred during your journey here. Friendships have been formed, spirits have been shaped, souls have been healed and minds have been enlightened. Our God has been faithful.

Administrative Offices Close Caps and gowns must be picked up before Noon on this day.

Commencement Rehearsal & Official Photos Required for all graduates. Please assemble at Iglesia Cristiana (Discípulos de Cristo) de Orlando, 1557 North Chickasaw Trail, Orlando, FL 32825 (just around the corner from the Seminary). You must bring your cap, gown, and hood since official group photos will be taken at this time only. Find your assigned seat as directed.

1–2 p.m.

Open House Asbury Seminary, Florida Dunnam Campus This event is for ALL graduates, relatives, and friends. It will be a great opportunity to show your family and friends where you have been studying for the last few years. (No food or snacks will be provided.)

2:15 p.m.

Commencement Assembly Iglesia Cristiana (Discípulos de Cristo) de Orlando Required for all graduates. Be at Iglesia Cristiana (Discípulos de Cristo) de Orlando, 1557 North Chickasaw Trail, Orlando, FL 32825, at 2:15 p.m. sharp for commencement lineup.

3 p.m.

Commencement Ceremony Graduates will receive a gift from the Alumni Office during the ceremony.
