Orlando, Florida Asbury Theological Seminary’s Florida Dunnam campus has been operating for more than a decade, giving the Orlando area direct access to quality theological education. Our 211 students utilize convenient course schedules to minimize commutes to campus. Metro Orlando bustles with over 2 million people. Known for its popularity as a vacation destination, the city is an urban destination for travelers visiting for business or leisure from all over the world. When it comes to seminary education, Orlando provides an internationally accessible venue for practice in a variety of ministries. We certainly don’t mind the sand and sunshine, either!
More than a degree— Spiritually formative theological education
Asbury Theological Seminary is a multidenominational graduate school of theology that teaches the unchanging truth of Christianity. We are a spiritually vibrant, academically rigorous community steeped in the Wesleyan movement, and we are deeply committed to living out the truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
20+ PROGRAMS TWO CAMPUSES ONE MISSION
Our mission: We are
a community called to prepare theologically educated, sanctified, Spirit-filled men and
women to evangelize and to spread scriptural holiness throughout the world through the love of Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit and to the glory of God the Father.
Education in community Asbury’s reputation, community, and commuter-conscious scheduling draws students to the Florida Dunnam campus from far outside the Orlando area. Intensive, weekend, online and block-scheduled classes make earning a theological graduate degree a realistic goal for students near the Orlando area. However, quality seminary education is more than a degree and, while we remain the eighthlargest1 seminary in the U.S., our outstanding faculty and 20+ programs are not what make us distinct. We are a called community marked by spiritual transformation.
With a total enrollment of more than 1,500 students (1,571 in fall 2009), Asbury Seminary ranks as the eighth-largest seminary with accreditation from the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada.

Why we’re a community called ... Theological education at Asbury Seminary’s Florida Dunnam campus is a unique experience. Students delve into their studies while participating in a rich fellowship of community that gives shape to their individual callings. You may study counseling or the global Church in a classroom, but you will also worship alongside fellow students and faculty from all over the world. Your unique cultural identities will enrich each other’s understanding of Christ’s love. It is this context of deep fellowship among believers—Christians preparing to minister across the globe by studying and growing in the intimate Florida Dunnam community—that makes the quality theological education Asbury Seminary offers truly transformational.
Reflecting God’s glory Graduate school is a time to refine academic skills alongside others in your field, but at Asbury Seminary these vital components are directed by something bigger—reflecting the glory of the triune God through worship. When you visit the Florida Dunnam campus, you will sense Asbury’s vibrant attitude of faith and praise. Gloria a Dios! Beyond weekly worship experiences, in which students participate by praying, preaching, and providing music, you’ll find a lively community of faculty and staff who prayerfully led this young campus through its first decade of operation. Spiritual devotion is incorporated into professors’ lectures, and each class begins with prayer.
Past chapel guests include: author, speaker and consultant Nancy Ortberg; Shane Claiborne, Co-founder of the Simple Way; and author Eugene Peterson.

Can I afford it? In the 2008-9 academic year, Asbury awarded approximately $3.6 million in scholarships. In contrast, another U.S. seminary with 400 more students than Asbury offered less than half that amount ($1.6 million) in scholarships in the same year. We have several institutional scholarship programs based on need and merit, some specifically for international students, postgraduate students, incoming students, and students preparing to pastor local churches. Many students obtain denominational or federal aid. In addition, block and intensive course scheduling gives students the freedom to take advantage of employment opportunities in Orlando or continue in ministry during their studies.
Renewing global vision Asbury Seminary is committed to engaging and enriching the global Church. Our alumni are serving in 66 foreign countries, more than 70 denominations, all 50 states and the District of Columbia, and in 22 time zones. Christ’s love compels us to continually pursue relationships that minister across cultural boundaries. Between January and May 2010 alone, Asbury Seminary professors taught, ministered and researched in Indonesia, Russia, South Korea, Jamaica, Estonia, Taiwan, India, Ecuador, Kenya, England, Scotland, Haiti and the U.S. Even as our faculty make these journeys, our student body represents 29 different countries. The global Church is thriving in Orlando, Florida, the nation’s gateway to the world!
Restoring hope Asbury Seminary has trained generations of Spirit-filled, evangelistic church planters, and our curriculum continues to support that goal. Students in professional master’s degree programs are mentored in ministry, and 18 credit hours of the M.Div. are dedicated to ministry practice. We take the official position that both men and women have equal place in positions of church leadership and ordination. We are also committed to maintaining a multidenominational and multicultural Seminary community. Asbury Seminary is accredited not only by the Association of Theological Schools but also by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and is approved by the United Methodist University Senate.
Revitalizing the Church Effective lifelong ministry begins with faithfulness to God’s Word. At Asbury Seminary, biblical roots are key in equipping students to revitalize the Church. Our counseling programs are a Florida Dunnam campus strength because they integrate Christian faith. The School of Urban Ministries equips Florida Dunnam students to minister by preparing to revitalize the Church in all cultural contexts. In today’s global culture, we believe that effective ministry requires the grace and wisdom to bridge boundaries in love. As Dean Zaida Pérez says, “This is a place where intellect and passion for God are not at war!” In total, Asbury Theological Seminary offers top-quality education through 62 full-time faculty.
