Through His conversation with Peter, Jesus has been reminding us about basic essentials of ministry. He has also been renewing our passion for ministry. We have heard His question, "Do you love Me?" His command, "Feed My sheep," His prediction, "You will go where you do not want to go," His call, "Follow Me," and His rebuke, "What is that to you? You must follow Me." But there is one other word of Jesus we need to hear. This word of the risen Christ is not found in His conversation with Peter. It was spoken earlier to the disciples when He first appeared to them following His resurrection. It was Easter Sunday evening. The disciples were gathered together with the doors locked. Peter and John had confirmed the reports of the women that the tomb was empty and Jesus' body was gone. Mary Magdalene had even claimed He was alive and that she had seen Him.
