Ascendtransliberation

AscendTransLiberation seeks to amplify Trans* voices within the community through a strengths based, human rights perspective. Our narratives can invoke change on a systematic level by fostering empathy and awareness of where the issues lay. Self-empowerment happens when we are “heard” through sharing our narratives. Storytelling helps us own and accept the events that have happened which builds resilience.  We become a “we” through collective action with each other, the local community and the existing institutions/resources. In solidarity with each other, we practice transformative organizing. We are interrupting the status quo, by demanding equity and inclusivity in the communities we live in and the systems we navigate. We begin to see evidence that, working together, and organizing, we can liberate ourselves from transmisia and stop the erasure of Trans people.
