We start off with Grade A raw silk. We purchase our silk from an American company that has sustainable practices and ethics. We go through our non-toxic, eco-friendly dyes and decide which colors to mix. all of our dyes are low-impact dyes, meaning, they react fast, exhaust well, and the results are permanent. Low-impact dyes are synthetic dyes with a higher than average absorption rate. This means less water is required in our rinse process and less dye runs off in the water. Therefore, the dyes have a lower impact on the environment.
Once rinsed, they soak in a special solution to achieve a soft texture that locks in the fibers of the fabric. After conditioning, the scarves are ready to dry. Once dry, our logo is ironed on by hand. Next the scarves are sprayed down with lavender water for a smell good + calming effect. Then we create the crinkled effect. We’re family operated, so every once and awhile our little tot, Tosh, will help with the finishing process. Now the scarves are put outside to sun dry in mother nature. Once dry, our scarves are ready to be packaged and sent to you. We use reusable stainless canisters. Our canisters are compact, lightweight, easy to travel with and can be reused for just about
