President’s Message

The time has finally come for our Annual Awards Night and Student Recognition Banquet! I want to thank Kaci Thomas and the rest of the board for what I believe will be an unforgettable evening. The time and effort needed to coordinate the event is considerable; I am very excited to participate in this year’s event.

As a reminder the awards banquet will be in the Grand Exposition Hall at the Silver Legacy from 5pm to 10pm. We will have a live magician, karaoke, and an escape room challenge that we hope will stump even our most formidable members. I want to thank Brainy Actz for helping us coordinate such a great idea.

While we try to make the event lively, the banquet is a great opportunity to network and engage with other members of our association as well as peers, mentors, and educators in our profession. We strive to highlight the great projects our region brings as well as the great engineers and students that our great community has to offer. As always, the UNR students and faculty will attend to let us all know how their activities and special projects are going. I hope to see you all there for what I know will be a memorable event.

Finally, I will leave you with some news that may pique your interest. This year’s Marv Byars Memorial Golf Tournament will be in a new location. Stay tuned to see where we go this year. The dates have been secured for Friday, July 12th, 2019 with a 9am shotgun start, so keep your eyes out for the ‘save the date’ coming your way in the following weeks.

Until next month,
