FEATURE UP-CYCLED PAINTBRUSH

Materials .Paint brush .Spray Paint .Lace trim .Fringe trim .bling .glue (450, hotglue) .heatgun(optional)

With this inspiring project we show you what to do with those old paint brushes you have laying around.

How-To

Paint the handle of your paintbrush with spray paint. (you may want to sand it back) Use your heatgun to dry the paint quicker.

Take your glue and put some on the top of the metal on your brush.

Place your lace trim on and follow around the brush.

Do this two more times. half way down the metal and at the bottom.

Add some fringe trim under the bottom layer of you lace.

For a final touch add some bling to the stem of the paintbrush

I wanted to create a sketch that could be interpreted by the individual artist and create inspiration for all scrapbookers.

Storm created an amazing layout, in which she took my seemingly girly layout sketch and came up with a cute masculine interpretation.

Beautiful Blooms In this article, Neha Aggarwal from Auzz Trinklets N Krafts, shows us how to make some Beautiful handmade flowers.

Outlining two different techniques that she has learned to make handcrafted paper blooms. flowers.

Creating handmade flowers for scrapbooking, card making and other paper projects allows you to be creative and make your own embellishments in accordance with you personal choice and preferences.

Moreover, creating your own handmade flowers is cost effective and a simple way of improving your hand made designs.

There are different methods to create flowers with paper. You can take any number of flower dies and use them to create a variety of different flowers by just giving a range of alternative folds or cuts. Outlined below are the two beautiful techniques which I have used to make the pretty blossoms.

TECHNIQUE 1 – PAPER PINCHING In this technique, I have followed the online tutorial of “Crumbled Paper Gardenias” by Luvleesscrappin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HHyQnyIaOA

Materials

1. Distress Ink: Seedless preserves (or any color of your choice) 2. Mini Mister filled with water; 3. Stamens white (or any color of your choice); 4. Heartfelt dies: Tattered Blossoms (HCD 722) one die cut of each size (you can also you any other blossom die); 5. Glimmer mist (clear) / Smooch spritz (vanilla shimmer);

Cut five blossoms of different sizes.

Align the blossoms on top of each other and make a hole in the centre of each of the blossoms.

After the ink is applied to each blossom, open the die cut on the working mat. Spray a good amount of water on to the blossoms using the Mini Mister (do not spray too much as the blossom may tear)

First take the smallest blossom and insert the 4-5 bunch of stamens

6. Heat gun; 7. Blending tool; 8. Paper (you can use 120 GSM to 180 GSM of paper); 9. Punch for making center hole (you can also use paper piercing tool); 10. Glossy accents

Fold each blossom into half and keep folding such that at the end, there is only 1 petal shape

Picking up each blossom, carefully pinch each petal as shown in the picture.

Then at the back of the blossom, put a drop of glossy accent so that when you attach the next blossom, it will stick to the first blossom.

Repeat the process with all the other 4 flower blossoms.

Dry the blossom with the Heat Gun.

Repeat the process with the remaining four blossoms.

Apply distress ink on the edges of each blossom as shown in the picture

When the blossoms are dry (as shown in the picture), align them on top of each other.

When you have attached all the blossoms together, use the Pearl Spray, Glimmer Mist of Smooch Spritz (as per your choice) to spray onto the blossom.

Then dry the blossom with the Heat Gun.

Materials

Heartfelt dies: Vintage Floret (HCD 727) one die cut of each size (you can also you any other blossom die); 5. Glimmer mist (clear) / Smooch spritz (vanilla shimmer);

Place all of the blossoms in a container or a mat, and then dry them a little bit with the Heat Gun.

Colour the edges of the each blossom.

Open the blossoms whilst they are still a little moist Completely dry the blossoms with the Heat Gun.

Repeat the process with the remaining four blossoms.

Spray water onto the blossom so that the colour bleeds and makes a shading effect. Then, scrunch each blossom, but be careful to not tear the blossom.

As per the previous technique, when the blossoms are dry (as shown in the picture), align them on top of each other.

Cut a small to medium sized doilly and cut in half.
