& TRAINER INFORMATION
WELCOME TO THE 2022/2023
JUMPS SEASON AT ASCOT
We are looking forward to another exciting season which we hope will provide plenty of high-quality action.
Last season we were privileged to host one of the races of the year when Shishkin and Energumene delivered an all-time classic in the SBK Clarence House Chase. That £150,000 Grade 1 for the top two-mile chasers in January is one of the highlights of the winter code at Ascot along with the Howden Long Walk Hurdle at Christmas and the Betfair Ascot Chase in February.
Champ and Fakir D’Oudairies won those top-tier races respectively last season and we also saw future Grade 1 novice winners at Ascot last winter in the shape of Jonbon and L’Homme Presse.
We host 10 Pattern or Listed level contests across our eight fixtures and £825,000 of prize money will be available for those races.
Total prize money for the 2022/23 season will be £2,310,900. Full details of the programme can be found in these pages.
In partnership with Great British Racing, we will host two Racecourse Ownership Days across our November Racing Weekend on 18th and 19th November. These will showcase shared racehorse ownership and allow syndicates and clubs the chance to talk to racegoers about becoming involved in ownership. A parade of horses with shares available will also take place before racing. You can find out more about the initiative on the In The Paddock website.
In 2021/22, Paul Nicholls was the leading trainer at Ascot with eight winners, helping him to a 13th trainers championship while his stable jockey Harry Cobden was the leading jockey, riding six winners. Congratulations to the whole team at Ditcheat.
Hannah Parlett (Owners' Trainers' and Breeders' Manager) and Molly Smith (Racing Executive) are here to help with all your needs.
We look forward to welcoming you back.
