WELCOME TO ASCOT Welcome to Royal Ascot 2019 which will once again provide five of the finest days’ Flat racing anywhere in the world. Worth over £7.3m this year, a total of eight Group One races headline a race programme that features 22 Pattern or Listed level races. No race at Royal Ascot is run for less than £90,000 and all Group One prize money begins at £500,000. The race programme is largely unchanged for 2019 with the only adjustment being the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes now being run as the

sixth race on the Wednesday with the Group Three Jersey Stakes now the second race on the Saturday. The Group Two Hardwicke Stakes then becomes the third race on the Saturday.
starting positions and entry fees paid into their corresponding race at the Breeders’ Cup, run in 2019 at Santa Anita in California on Friday 1st November and Saturday 2nd November.
The Group Two Queen’s Vase has reverted to a five day closing race and will be run at £225,000, an increase of £25,000 for 2019 in line with our commitment to support the Europe-wide stayers’ review project. The race has made an excellent start as a Group Two being won by future Group One winners Stradivarius and Kew Gardens in this time and the change from an early closing race is designed to give connections of young stayers more time to assess which horses may be suitable for the race.
All winning connections will continue to receive traditional perpetual trophies, providing them with their very own piece of Ascot history.
We are delighted that the Royal Meeting will be participating in the Breeders’ Cup ‘Win & You’re In’ programme for the second time. This means the winners of the Queen Anne Stakes, Prince of Wales’s Stakes, Norfolk Stakes and Diamond Jubilee Stakes all receive automatic
You will find much more information about the week in this brochure and on behalf of the whole team at Ascot, I wish you the very best for a successful and enjoyable 2019 Royal Meeting. Yours sincerely
