New this year will be an additional half-day program for our industry’s emerging, high potential employees whose career track requires well-rounded tools to help take them to the next level. Moderated by a professional facilitator, this session will help participants identify and leverage their strengths for enhanced leadership. In addition to our programming, there will be numerous networking opportunities throughout the two-day event, including receptions and dinners, our golf outing, and off-site excursions for attendees and spouses. Whether you are currently an executive in your company or are an “emerging leader,” you will not want to miss ASC’s annual Executive Leadership Conference. Join us this October and invest in your and your business’s future. I look forward to seeing you in Hilton Head!

9:00 to 10:15 a.m. The 2020 Economic/Business Outlook: Is the Tank Running Out of Gas? Ken Mayland, President, ClearView Economics, LLC
Sponsored by:
The current business expansion has gone on for a record-long time. But with the jobless rate at the lowest level seen in a generation, will a lack of employable persons thwart the further expansion of the economy? What do the best indicators say about the economy’s immediate future? What factor will ultimately cause the economy to stumble, and how will the march to the next recession unfold? AND how will the economy’s vote figure into the 2020 Presidential election? ALL good questions, but you have to attend the Conference to hear the answers!

Networking Lunch All attendees, including guests, are invited to this lunch.
1:30 to 2:45 p.m. Blurred Lines – Strategic M&A Transactions in Adhesives and Sealants John Beagle, Managing Director & Co-Founder, Grace Matthews Inc.
Current market dynamics in the global adhesives and sealants sector have blurred the lines defining our industry. As large multinational corporations seek elusive growth to defend robust stock prices, the attractive margin and growth profile of adhesives and sealants has created a new class of strategic buyer. Industrial conglomerates, building material and construction chemicals companies, and paint & coatings powerhouses have elected to compete with well capitalized chemical-sector focused private equity funds and large adhesives manufacturers in pursuit of quality A&S acquisitions. Vertical integration is also becoming more common, as chemical producers, distributors and converters pursue formulators. These newcomers from complementary industries create additional opportunities for some adhesives providers, as well as risk and uncertainty for others as these recent arrivals gain influence and blur the lines via strategic acquisitions.
2:45 to 3:00 p.m.

8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Innovation Requires High Performance Leadership Crystal Morrison, CEO of EverRise and Director, Chemquest Group
As senior leaders, we often think that if we bring brilliant people together, innovation will happen. Time and again, we find these teams of brilliant people struggling to move forward. There’s never a shortage of ideas, yet we still struggle to bring truly innovative, disruptive technologies to the market. Do we ever consider the leadership behaviors we demonstrate and culture we’ve created? If not, we should. Innovation is an act of leadership, not just creativity. High performance leadership across an organization is required to innovate, drive growth and build a sustainable future. In this talk, we’ll discuss the characteristics of highperformance organizations and leadership, the link to innovation and how to empower and engage your employees as partners in the business.
9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Opportunities for chemical buyers and sellers on Amazon Business Tim Stanislaus, Head of Enterprise Sales, Amazon Business
Since its inception, Amazon Business has become a significant sales opportunity for brands, wholesalers, and distributors. The rapid expansion of B2B e-commerce presents both opportunities and challenges for chemical sellers who want to grow their business. This session explores why chemical buyers and sellers increasingly choose Amazon Business..
10:30 to 10:45 a.m. Networking Break 10:45 a.m. to Noon VISION – MINDSET – GRIT: Success Strategies to Help You Stand Up to Any Challenge Scott Burrows, Keynote Motivational Speaker, VISION–MINDSET–GRIT
The true measure of success is how well you respond to change, self-doubt, setbacks and fear. Whatever belief system you employ must be powerful enough to conquer these obstacles and any other impediments to your personal and professional growth, or you—and your organization—will be left behind.
Noon to 5:30 p.m. Afternoon on your own ASC has scheduled two activities for the afternoon. See page 8-9 for activities options. 5:30 to 9:00 p.m.
