As a restaurant set in the Streets at South Glenn in Centennial, Colorado, the pristine white shell of Vigor oers a blank canvas to highlight a menu of colorful cocktails and dishes. The shell then peels away to reveal punches of life and color, creating a positive, upbeat, and invigorating atmosphere.

Invulge is a single-serving, hot-air popcorn popper. With its whimsical nature, it acts as a sculpture and conversation piece, something worth leaving out on one’s countertop even when not in use.
This 50’ x 50’ x 25’ exhibit space showcases the experience of private space travel offered by the company Spaceview.

Constantine offers a countertop-height surface easy to navigate around, thanks to the removal of typical corner legs. The 54” x 30” solid-ash top balances on a concrete pedestal, while steel cable threads through the top and base to maintain a stable working surface. Reveals in the top surface highlight the cable and concrete connections at work. The concrete mixture features microfiber reinforcement to counterattack any tension forces within the form.
CONSTANTINE
Pli takes the organic curves and forms of Art Nouveau into a more contemporary setting. The biomorphic forms of late 19th and early 20th centuries led to very sculptural pieces of furniture, often significantly large. A more two-dimensional approach allows the piece to fold up for easy transport and storage within a standard-sized UPS shipping box.

Brewing Active Lifestyles My initial inspiration began with an interest in urban decay, specifically the atmosphere it creates. In my findings from various authors, urban explorers, historians, and photographers, I settled on three reasons for the appeal of urban decay spaces: _Windows to the past They often tell a story, playing on our sense of nostalgia as we search for personal connections. _Physical respresentation of time They oer a way to witness the passage of time, demonstrating the powerful resilience of nature and life. _Unrestricted potential Void of any remaining expectations to uphold, they can become whatever they wish to be.
Goals and Objectives (Programming stage)
Offer a unique experience that builds on customers’ and members’ trust and loyalty
Support a growing community of people living active lifestyles
Promote healthier, more environmentallyfriendly lifestyles within the urban context

Concept Decay is time, and as a product of decay, ruins physically represent the passage of time. They offer unique texture and atmosphere as layers of activity have added significance and value. A ruin’s true glory, however, lies in what could be; the freedom of functions presents unrestricted potential. Abandoned since 1977, the former Falstaff Brewery is a beneficiary of decay. As with several similar structures across St. Louis, its brick architecture currently remains nothing more than a testament to the city’s brilliant past. The Active Pursuit, or TAP, is a recreation facility that aims to promote active lifestyles with an urban context, while building on the growing popularity of active leisure. TAP offers an inviting array of options and activities, all housed within a uniquely-urban, uniquely-St. Louis atmosphere. In addition to fitness opportunities, TAP provides the retail and community components to support active lifestyles. To celebrate the lure of decay and ruin, the renovations and additions aim for minimal impact, celebrating the existing texture while finding the right balance of definition in order to create a facility that is safe, functional, and profitable. This approach does not seek to stop, remove, or hide the decay; it celebrates it as a necessary step towards renewal. With an incredible foundation of history, and an increasingly young population ready to act, the community needs a spark, a shift from the norm, to ignite an era of growth.

Degrees of Definition Structured Suggested Options Increasingly popular activities, like CrossFit, require a small amount of fixed equipment. Spaces for such activities focus on providing the space and freedom to choose and develop personalized routines.
A second-floor track weaves through spaces as a connecting element, while oering its users views of the various activities available throughout the complex. Urban-themed obstacles and other temporary installations will provide new activities and challenges for members to explore.
With a wide variety of spaces and a complex floor plan, the inner courtyard plays a major role in tying everything together. Further development would explore the opportunity for graďŹƒti, large graphics, and painted murals to assist with wayfinding and to help brand the various spaces.
