Executive Message September 2010
ASEA…poised for greatness…experiencing growth, and it’s because of you! ASEA’s Breakthrough Convention at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas was absolutely stunning! The venue was phenomenal, the enthusiasm of the crowd was overwhelming, and the content of each general session and workshop was unparalleled. You couldn’t ask for a better event! For those who came to Las Vegas and made this convention an event to remember, thank you. There is nothing that energizes me more than being with you remarkable Associates. Those days we spent together were truly magical, and I want to offer my sincere gratitude for your enthusiasm, your energy, and your support. For those who weren’t able to make it, please pour over every single word of this newsletter. There is no way that mere words on a page can convey the powerful nature of this extraordinary event, but it’s worth reading…if only to catch a glimpse of what you missed! After you read this newsletter, call or visit an Associate who was in attendance. Get that Associate to describe the feeling, the vibration, of being right there in the room. Get a sense for what you missed, and then set your sites on Convention 2011. We can write down the announcements, we can review the promotions, we can recite the information…but it’s just not the same. You have to be in the room for Convention 2011! Our Breakthrough Convention did more than launch a company. It did more than set the stage. This convention fueled the jet-packs of a thousand fired-up Associates. This company, Associate by Associate, will skyrocket to the stratosphere and beyond, thanks to a powerful product, an unbelievable opportunity, and an incredibly qualified and motivated field. Thank you all! Sincerely,
Verdis Norton

Product Update September 2010
The Sleek & Sporty ASEA Pouch The convention wasn’t more than an hour old when ASEA President James Pack blew away the packed room with the announcement everyone has been waiting for: ASEA is now available in convenient and stylish 8-ounce pouches. “These are so cool,” said James from the stage. And boy, is he right! The specially designed plastic pouches are perfect for traveling, or even for a trip across town! Athletes will love the sleek profile and easy-to-carry convenience. And everyone loves the one-way, no-drip valve! ASEA pouches are a perfect complement to the 32-ounce bottles! Associates can begin ordering pouches right away. Each case contains 16 pouches, with a hover over for comment price of $130 and PV of 100. “So cool,” is how James described the new pouch, and the crowd at convention agreed! Right after he made the announcement, the entire ASEA corporate staff began handing out free samples to the entire group. It was wild and wonderful, and everyone in attendance got to be the first to experience the new pouch.
“This really is awesome,” said one attendee. “This makes this company even better in my eyes. Thank you for listening to us!”

Vision and Purpose September 2010
Vision & Purpose Session 1 was held Friday, September 10 to a packed hall, and every person came away with a solid understanding of the company, its purpose, and its future. CEO Verdis Norton kicked things off with a powerful presentation on the unique qualities of tremendously successful businesses.
All companies, he said, that reach the very top levels have a few things in common, but central to everything is “unprecedented demand.” Unprecedented demand is a game changer, he explained. It’s what separates the merely successful from the industry icons. ASEA, Verdis then went on to point out, will become an icon in business because we truly have a product with unprecedented demand.
After setting the vision for the company, Verdis introduced his founding partner, James Pack, who then went on to electrify the audience with the announcement of the new ASEA 8-ounce pouch. The crowd went crazy for the new packaging, no doubt spurred on by dozens of staffers scurrying to hand out ASEA pouches to everyone.

Vision and Purpose September 2010 But the excitement was just beginning. Kurt Richards, VP of Corporate Development, was announced, but failed to take the stage. After an awkward moment, Director of Sales Development Chris Mastin came out and said that no one knew where Kurt was; he’d been acting strange the past few weeks. In fact, Chris said, the corporate team had been so worried that they videotaped his antics. The audience was then treated to a “documentary” that showed Kurt around the office, slowly “turning Canadian.” The laughter built during the video and then reached a crescendo as the video ended, the lights came on, and there was Kurt on stage…in full uniform as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police! Of course, that got the crowd’s attention, and Kurt went on to report on the fantastic response to ASEA’s initial business efforts in Canada. Session 1 was also the scene for one of the largest cash payouts ever, as Convention Cash winners came up to the stage and received tens of thousands of dollars right there…not in the form of checks or transfers, but actual cold, hard cash! “I’ve never seen so much money in real life!” said one attendee. In total, with cash awarded on the stage and later at a special booth in the ASEA store, more than $60,000 was handed out, all in tens and twenties. “That makes for a pretty big stack,” said ASEA CFO Jarom Webb, who was responsible for all that dough.
Jarom had his own big entrance, with four dark-suited, dark glasses-wearing body guards escorting him and the briefcase full of cash to the stage. “Actually,” Jarom said with a smile, “we just got the biggest Associates we could find. But they were plenty big enough!” So after all that cash was handed out, what was left to say? Plenty, it turns out! The convention’s first general session ended with two major announcements, ASEA SmartWallet and exciting new sales tools (both written about later in this newsletter). All in all, it was almost more than our Associates could wrap their brains around! But what a way to start the convention!

New Sales Tools a Huge Splash Toward the end of General Session 1, Vice President of Marketing Bruce Call took the stage to introduce several new sales tools, each one receiving thunderous applause. “Sure, we knew people would love these tools,” said Bruce later, “but we really didn’t know they’d embrace them like this!” The new tools: • Revised Product brochure. Convention Highlights September 2010
ASEA Convention Store a Massive Success “There are two types of terror you feel just before the store opens,” said Director of Associate Support Karen Reilley. “The first terror is: What if nobody buys anything? The second terror is: What if everybody buys everything and we run out in the first hour?” For Karen and the ASEA staff manning the store, the second terror seemed more likely. Just minutes after the first general session let out, the ASEA Store was flooded with convention attendees, happily scurrying from display to display, each excited to gather up tools, product, apparel, and other ASEA goodies. “It was tremendous,” said Events Manager KimMarie Larsen. “I’ve never seen so many excited shoppers!” Convention attendees were quick to snap up deals on everything from ASEA hats and key chains to multiple cases of the new ASEA 8-ounce pouch. “We couldn’t be happier with the way everything turned out,” said Karen Reilley. “Making our Associates happy is what makes us happy.”
Breakthrough Sessions Answer Questions, and More! ASEA’s Friday afternoon Breakthrough Sessions captured the attention of every convention attendee, with something for everyone. One session featured ASEA board member Tyler Norton giving a riveting 50 minutes of personal and professional development training that he entitled: “You Are Here!” Tyler’s basis for the title—and the training—was the common mall map found in every shopping center in the world. You can know where you want to go, but you really can’t map it out until you know where you are right now. “The Next Level” was the title of the business building Breakthrough Session, which featured sound, solid, realworld tips and tactics from some of ASEA’s top Associate leaders. Trish Schwenkler, Karl Roller, and David & Debbie Reeder teamed up to deliver tremendous practical advice on how to begin a conversation, answer common questions, overcome objections, guide prospects toward the buying decision, and properly build a solid team that will duplicate your efforts. The third gathering, which featured a question & answer session with Dr. Gary Samuelson, Dr. Dave Carpenter, and Dr. Rob Ward, proved to be tremendously popular. Associates line up at the microphone to ask specific questions about the mechanism of Redox Signaling and the effects of ASEA on the human body. With each question, the attendees were riveted as responses were given by this panel of scientists and medical professionals. “It was so wonderful to have access to people who really understand this,” said one Associate. “I know it works, because of what it’s done for me, but I’m really fascinated by the science of it, and so I loved hearing from these men.” The Breakthrough Sessions were presented and repeated, so that every Associate could attend every session. Each room was packed, and it was clear that the presenters themselves were feeding off the incredible energy. “There’s nothing like a roomful of powerful, passionate people,” said Debbie Reeder. “The flow of information is just one part of it. It’s really about connecting with people…people with a common purpose.”

Special Dinner Event Honors ASEA’s Top Recruiters Friday, Verdis Norton, James Pack, and the entire executive team devoted the evening to dinner and socializing with a very special group: ASEA’s top recruiters. These ten Associates distinguished themselves by out-recruiting the entire field during the summer months, and so they were each rewarded with a private limousine ride from the airport, an upgraded suite at the Paris Hotel, and a private dinner with the Founders and executives. These Associates and their guests were treated to a superb steak and seafood dinner, and throughout the evening Verdis and James spent considerable time in close conversation with each top recruiter. What a night to remember!

Convention Highlights September 2010
Saturday Morning Begins with Tribute As Associates gathered for the second general session of the Breakthrough Convention, it was clear that this session would begin in no ordinary way. Precisely at 9:00, the lights dimmed and a voice came over the sound system: “Ladies and gentlemen, today is September 11, 2010. Nine years ago today America—and freedom itself—was viciously attacked. In memory of those who fell on this date and in reverence for the men and women of our armed who dedicate their lives to our protection, please observe a moment of silence.” The feeling of reverence that followed for several moments was then punctuated with the appearance in the back of the room of a color guard in dress uniform—four airmen from Nellis Air Force Base—who presented the colors of the United States, marching smartly up the aisle and to the stage. Hands were placed on hearts, and as the national anthem was played, the room reverberated with the combined voices of ASEA Associates. Then, with the entire audience still standing, and as the color guard retired, the three jumbo screens lit up with a montage of photos over a waving American flag, as the sound system came alive with Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA.” The photos were snapshots of men and women of the military, each one an ASEA Associate or a family member of ASEA Associates and employees. Unbidden, but simply moved by emotion, the entire audience remained standing throughout the presentation. “This is an entirely appropriate way to begin this day,” said Bruce Call, VP of Marketing, taking the stage. He then brought the house lights up and asked all military personnel, active duty or veterans, to stand. The applause from the audience was unstoppable, an outpouring of heartfelt gratitude for our men and women in uniform. After several moments, Bruce thanked these honored Associates and told the group, “We will have fun today. We’ll have excitement and energy and enthusiasm. But it’s important in all the excitement in life to push the pause button every once in a while, and to remember the source of our freedom and the men and women who protect it.” It was a powerful beginning to a powerful day.

ASEA Events Strategy a Big Hit During the Saturday morning session, ASEA announced a comprehensive events strategy that stunned and excited the crowd, leaving them breathless with anticipation for the travel and training. “This is a true differentiator,” said one veteran of network marketing later. “Everyone has incentive trips, but no one else is basing their entire event planning and recognition program on the sole purpose of keeping me in the business.” “The driving purpose of everything you see here is to retain our wonderful Associates,” said Bruce Call from the stage. “Very simply, we want to keep you forever.” He then went on to present a powerful, cohesive, interwoven strategy of incentive trips and earned training events. “There is nothing like this anywhere else in the industry,” said Bruce, “because while all companies promote the work side of the business as a way to get to the fun side, no one is using the fun side as a true and deliberate vehicle for equipping Associates to enhance and improve the work side.” Bruce explained the two sides of the event strategy in terms of motifs or visual images. The fun, relaxing side uses the motif of the sunny, palm-lined beach. The roll-up-your-sleeves and get trained side takes on the motif of the tall mountain peak. “We call these two sets of events ‘ASEA Sun & Sand’ and ‘ASEA Base Camps.’” He explained that the two types of events work together synergistically to create an upward spiral of achievement. Bruce then went on to wow the crowd as he revealed the destinations for many of the ASEA events coming in 2011, which include Cancun, Mexico; Park City, Utah; and Banff, Canada. For the full details of the dates, qualifications, and destinations of the ASEA Sun & Sand trips and the ASEA Base Camps, see the chart in this newsletter. “I’m astounded that ASEA has developed such a comprehensive approach to retaining us as Associates,” said another professional networker who has been with several other companies. “But then again, I guess I shouldn’t be. Nothing surprises me with this company any more!”

Games Galore! Some of the most popular elements of the Breakthrough Convention general sessions were the game breaks. Three times, the presentations were punctuated with the appearance of Justin Wilson, Karen Reilley, and Chris Mastin, directors within the company, as they called up random members of the audience to participate in fun and physical challenges. “Redox Rumble” featured teams and individuals firing colored miniature marshmallows into a kid’s wading pool. “Oxidative Stress” pitted participants against each other as they tried to keep balloons aloft using only a can of compressed air. “Cell Tower” offered the challenge of creating the tallest tower using only marshmallows and uncooked spaghetti. It was loads of fun for the participants and the audience, as everyone cheered their favorite contestants. And in the end, several Associates walked away with ASEA Store gift certificates, and three lucky winners took home brand new iPads!

Convention Highlights September 2010
Athletes Love ASEA Midway through the second session, ASEA President James Pack took the stage to introduce the crowd to six outstanding, world-class athletes who love ASEA and what the product does for them. One by one, Jim brought to the stage triathlete Todd Seamons, mixed martial artist Wes Sims, LPGA member Kristin Sunderhaft, Hollywood stuntman Bob Brown, NCAA basketball coach Alli Bills, and beach volleyball Olympian Sinjin Smith. As each athlete then took the microphone to tell his or her ASEA story, the audience cheered their words. “This is incredible,” said one attendee. “Such a wide variety of athletes, so many different disciplines, some at the prime of their careers, others just wanting to continue to stay physically active after a lifetime of stress on their bodies. And the one thing they have in common? They all love ASEA!”

Science Advisory Council September 2010
ASEA Science Advisory Council Formed Also in the second general session, CEO Verdis Norton took time to announce the formation of an ASEA Science Advisory Council. “This council is chartered with three guiding directives,” said Verdis. “First, to advance the Redox Signaling technology behind ASEA through continued research. Second, to educate Associates on this profound and groundbreaking technology. And third, to protect this technology and ensure ASEA’s continued dominance in the Redox Signaling market.” With that announcement, Verdis introduced the five members of the council, three of whom were in attendance and took the stage. Dr. Ronald V. Norris, holding an M.D. and an M.B.A, and Dr. Brian Schiller, a Ph.D. in Applied Human Physiology, were unable to attend due to other commitments. But Dr. Gary Samuelson, atomic/medical physicist, Dr. Robertson Ward, M.D. and founder of projectREACH, and Dr. David Carpenter, board-certified naturopathic doctor, all appeared on stage and took time to give their thoughts on ASEA and its future in helping mankind. “What a remarkable team of scientists and medical professionals,” remarked an Associate. “These are true scientists, not swayed by emotion or hearsay or anything else. When they talk about what ASEA does inside the body, inside your cells, you know they’re speaking with authority and conviction. I love having this level of proven science behind the product I represent!”

ASEA EasyBuilder September 2010
Building Your Business Is Easy, with ASEA EasyBuilder! Breakthrough General Session 2 ended with a fantastic presentation and contest announcement by Justin Wilson. Justin brought to the stage Dave Montague, who owns the company behind the EasyBuilder technology. Dave then stepped the audience through this phenomenal new product, which allows Associates to create and send highimpact videos and other content to family, friends, and prospects with incredible ease. “This is amazing,” said one enthusiastic Associate. “I can import my entire address book, separate them into folders I create, choose one or more contacts, then record a personal message from my webcam, attach any video from the ASEA library, and send it off. And the best part is, when my contact gets the email and starts watching the video, I get a text message saying so right at the very moment!” Future enhancements to the EasyBuilder system are in the works right now, like full CRM and one-click email drip campaigns. “This is a tremendous tool with tremendous power,” said Justin. When Dave’s presentation was over, Justin then drew a huge response from the crowd by announcing a fabulous EasyBuilder contest. “We want to bring out the best in the creativity of our Associates,” said Justin, “so we’re holding an ASEA Viral Video contest.” Justin went on to explain that having all those fantastic contest entries will also expand the ASEA EasyBuilder video library, giving even more tools to Associates. Here’s how the contest works: • Sign up for the ASEA EasyBuilder system by visiting ASEAeb.com. • Create an awesome video! Use humor, surprise, or any other creative element to produce a video that will go viral worldwide! • Keep the video to no more than 3 minutes in length. • Stay compliant; avoid medical, disease, and function claims. • Log onto ASEAeb.com and place your fantastic video in the Contest folder. Your video will then be reviewed by the ASEA Compliance department, and after that it will appear on the new YouTube channel: YouTube.com/ASEAcontest. Once that happens, your job will be to get as many friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors to watch your video and pass it along to others! That’s because monthly winners and the grand prize winner will be determined by a calculation based on total views and total unique viewers. The more different people watch your video, and more often they watch it, the better your chances to win! And what do you win? Each month—September through December—the creator of the top video will win an awesome new Apple iPad! And when the contest period wraps up, the very top video creator will join ASEA on our fabulous Sun & Sand Escape trip to Cancun, Mexico in February! This will be an all expenses-paid trip for two to the incredible Moon Palace Resort, so you want to make sure to do your best! Remember, the top videos will be determined by a formula that is heavy on unique viewers; it won’t do any good to have the same five people watch the video over and over! So you want to create something truly creative, truly catchy, truly viral! You want people in Lithuania watching this thing and passing it on!
Go ASEA, and Go Viral!

Convention Highlights September 2010
Recognizing Greatness General Session 3 of the ASEA Breakthrough Convention was all about the Associates. From top to bottom, the afternoon was filled with recognition. The session began with CEO Verdis Norton introducing the first official ASEA Associate Advisory Council, with members Sue Brenchley, Karl Roller, Rose Mary Skinner, David Reeder, Michael Stern, Trish Schwenkler, Alan Noble, and Kevin Porter. As the council took the stage, Triple Diamond Sue Brenchley took the microphone to speak for the entire group, and used her time to surprise the Founders of ASEA with a special gift: an original oil painting of a snowy pine forest, with each branch and each tree symbolizing the individuals who make up the remarkable entity that is ASEA. Afterwards, it was the executive team’s turn to recognize and reward the Associates. Director 300s, Director 700s, and Founders Club members stood to the applause of the entire crowd. Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum Executives paraded across the stage amidst the cheers of their colleagues. Diamonds, Double Diamonds, and Triple
Diamonds took the stage and each delivered a powerful message of the benefits and opportunities associated with ASEA. There was even a special presentation to the Diamond Founders Club, the folks earning the trip to Kaua’i, Hawaii later this month. A troop of Polynesian dancers took the stage and performed the hula, then placed fragrant plumeria leis on each Diamond Founder as they came to the stage. Then, just when the group thought they could return to their seats, VP Marketing Bruce Call stopped them and turned to the crowd. “We want these fantastic Associates to feel right at home when they go to Hawaii,” he said. “And that means they need to know how to blend in. So we’ve asked these beautiful Hawaiian dancers to teach our Diamond Founders how to hula, and we’re asking all of you to watch!” Then, to the delight of everyone in the audience, the trip earners learned and then performed “We’re Going to the Hukilau.”

Convention Highlights September 2010 The final general session came to a close with two powerful presentations. Tyler Norton took the stage and challenged the Associates in attendance to use this incredible convention as a starting point for something much, much bigger. “When what we choose to engage in reaches the highest level, it becomes a cause,” Tyler said. “But when many people engage in that cause, it becomes a movement. ASEA will become a movement, and it begins right here with you.” When Tyler was finished, the ASEA Founders, Verdis Norton and James Pack, returned to the stage a final time, and Verdis—visibly moved by the emotion of the moment—expressed his profound appreciation of the efforts, the diligence, and the character of ASEA Associates. It was a stirring moment, and everyone in the audience was just as moved as Verdis was. A fitting end to the general sessions of ASEA’s launch convention. Future enhancements to the EasyBuilder system are in the works right now, like full CRM and one-click email drip campaigns. “This is a tremendous tool with tremendous power,” said Justin.

Convention Highlights September 2010
Celebrate! To cap off the entire ASEA Breakthrough event, Associates joined the Founders and executive team at a special Casino Night in the Paris Hotel ballroom. As the doors opened and the Associates streamed in, they found the ballroom transformed, with cocktail tables, lounge areas, gaming tables, and a live band playing onstage. Each Associate received $1,000 in “ASEA Chips,” allowing them to play Black Jack, Craps, Poker, and Roulette in an effort to win a big stack and bid on fabulous items that were auctioned off throughout the night. But gaming at the tables was just one element of an extraordinary party. It turns out the live band, called “Rock with You,” specialized in karaoke, allowing Associates to take the stage and become instant rock stars! They even brought hats, wigs, and costumes to complete the persona of your favorite rocker as you belted out that classic song! Associate after Associate took advantage, choosing a song and the singing to the crowd. And what incredible talent! Truly amazing! “We’ve done this for a lot of companies and a lot of conventions,” the lead singer of Rock with You told one executive when the night was over, “but we’ve never seen the level of musical talent that we’ve seen tonight. Just what is in this ASEA product that makes everyone such a good singer?” The highlight of the musical festivities came when Justin Wilson called Verdis Norton to the stage. “I don’t know if you know this,” Justin told the audience who had massed around the stage, “but we have a new 71 year-old in the room!” Then, as the hotel banquet staff rolled in a beautiful birthday cake, the entire crowd broke out in “Happy Birthday to You,” honoring the CEO and Founder of ASEA. The executive team followed the celebration by taking over the microphones and, with the help of the band and the lyrics on the screen, leading the crowd in a rousing rendition of “YMCA”—but with all the words changed to fit the company: A.S.E.A.! Throughout the night, with auctions and with drawings, ASEA gave away over $20,000 in prizes, including iPods, GPS units, digital SLR cameras, camcorders, Sephora and Nordstrom gift cards, big screen TVs, laptops and MacBooks, and awesome new iPads. The big giveaway of the night was a fabulous trip for two to Paris, France, won by Associate Rob Mayer! As a visibly stunned Rob took the stage, he said, “I’ve never won anything in my life! This company is amazing!”
Amazing is just one of the adjectives to describe ASEA. But given the incredible events of those 48 hours, it’s a pretty good one.
