What advice would you give to someone starting out in law?
My advice to anyone starting out in law would be to ensure you obtain as much work experience as you can, especially working in various areas of law because it is impossible to be certain of which area you wish to specialise in until you have experienced that area, and others, in practice.

Where is your favourite place to visit in Shropshire? There are so many to choose just one, but I do really enjoy walking up The Lawley and Rodney’s Pillar. I have also recently discovered Corbet Wood Countryside Heritage site (including Grinshill) which is a lovely walk. I also enjoy visiting historic castles.
What are your favourite events that take place in Shropshire?
I try to experience as many new events in the area as I can.

It is essential to keep an open mind about where you would like your career path to take you. For instance, upon qualification and having completed my LPC (Legal Practice Course) I was convinced I did not wish to work in residential property! However, I have now been practising residential property for the last 10 years and love my job. Focus on where your passion lies.
Last year I went to my first Rock and Bowl Festival in Market Drayton, which is an annual music event with UK tribute acts usually taking place over the full weekend. It started as a beer garden music event back in 2009 and has grown to a full production festival as it is today.

I would also say grab any opportunity, especially if it is outside your comfort zone before you commit to specialising. Many skills are transferable with completely different practice areas complementing each other.

It is held in the town’s picnic area and I found it was a great event for families and music lovers alike. They also raise money in support of local and national charities.

Within our ecological developments we’ve been looking out for Britain’s best-loved creature these past few years, and we’ll be incorporating hedgehog highways throughout Partridge Walk.
