Fostering changes lives Could you care?

If you have ever considered fostering there are probably more ways that you can do this than you realise. You need to have a spare room and be over the age of 21, that’s it. If you could provide a loving, stable home to a local child, there are no barriers, whatever your background or lifestyle, subject to checks.

Peter, a foster carer for two boys, said: “When you see a young person grow and fulfil their potential, the feeling is amazing. I also see the positive impact on my own children. They have learned to be very open, tolerant and reflective. My younger son has natural rapport and trust with young swimmers that he now teaches and that is down to his experience of sharing his home with the many children we have fostered.”
