Welcome
To be 60 years young means to honor our past and to respect the traditions that matter most. It means we continue to celebrate All Saints’ Day by honoring people who have committed themselves to our mission and who have supported our School from its humble beginnings to the prominent college-preparatory School that is All Saints’ today. It means taking time to tell the stories of our past, as outlined through The All Saints’ Story, and to ensure our present and future are built upon a solid foundation. It means we remind even our youngest that their gifts matter and that everyone plays a role in making our community stronger. To be 60 years young means being willing to still take risks and to try something new to improve how we teach and learn. It means adding accelerated levels to our math curriculum while continuing to incorporate our self-published Great Lives biographies into our study of Western Civilization. It means building a solar car from scratch with Upper School students, and it means creating a “Web 2.0” class to better manipulate technology to gather and utilize information for more credible, substantive research and writing. It means embracing a renaissance of learning. To be 60 years young means to have fun and celebrate as we did through our Homecoming Picnic and fireworks display, our “Totally Awesome All-Alumni Party” and our 60th Anniversary Gala. It means gathering as a community on the Burnett Great Lawn for Commencement, highlighting our graduates’ exercising of genius within through developing a relationship with God, by engaging the world and by serving others. College Advising A hallmark of the All Saints’ experience is the College Advising program. Beginning with the freshman year, each student is well-informed and ready for the challenge of exploring, analyzing and applying to certain colleges and universities. Because each student has different gifts and interests, it is the job of the College Advising team to work one-on-one with that student and his parents to strategically and methodically help them make the decision which will set a successful future in motion.

HONORS CLASSICS DIPLOMA
The Honors Classics Diploma promotes academic excellence through the study of the cultural and historical manifestations of the Greco-Roman world, the JudeoChristian tradition, and the Classical legacy. The Honors Classics Diploma is awarded to students who take four years of Latin, three Classics seminars, and maintain a 90 average in these courses. Courses offered since fall 2005 include “Cloak and Dagger Politics: A Roman History Seminar,” “Greek Theater Workshop,” “Art and Archaeology,” “Milton and the Classics,” “Ancient Greek,” “Imperial Rome and Imperial China,” “Mythology,” and “France and the Classical Idea.”
HONORS THESIS PROGRAM (NEW 2012-2013)
Graduates with honors from All Saints’ Episcopal School are engaged learners and leaders in the classroom and in the community. Through individual exploration, students develop a thesis in their junior year of school, and their honors study is annotated on each personal transcript.

SENIOR PROJECT (NEW 2012-2013)
The Senior Project is an opportunity for seniors to engage in a field of their choosing. Students may choose from a variety of experiences such as, but not limited to, participating in an internship, conducting research, performing, or exhibiting their artwork. The Senior Project is traditionally completed toward the end of the senior year.

Finance and Investment Committees The Finance Committee is responsible for the overall fiscal health of the School, including developing the annual budget, tracking expenses on a monthly basis, and recommending tuition rates for the coming academic year.

Management of the School’s Endowment Fund is delegated to the Investment Committee, in partnership with our professional advisors, Diesslin & Associates. Established in 2007, the Investment Committee has risen to the challenge of being good stewards of the School’s resources during a period of worldwide macro-risks. The result has been overall solid returns. All Saints’ has consistently operated in the black and receives a clean management letter from our external auditors each year. Our spending philosophy is one of prudence, and we are proud to be among the independent schools nationwide that operate debt-free.

Admission and Marketing Committee Charged with the mission to both market the School within the community at large, as well as attract new students and assist them with the application process, the Admission and Marketing Committee always has a full agenda.

“The Early Childhood program, still in temporary classroom space, started its second year with a significant increase in enrollment – quite a testament to the substance of this newly established program!” - Raney Chambers
Our Kindergarten process was enriched with the first class of applicants from our Early Childhood program, which was established just last year. Marketing efforts for our K-12 program focused on identifying and communicating our “distinctives” – chapel, a balanced curriculum, Project Empathy, Middle School Round Table, our chess program, Blessing of the Pets, All Saints’ Day, Advent Lessons and Carols, the A/B schedule in Upper School, and Commencement on the Burnett Great Lawn. These distinctives, along with many others, were interwoven in our messaging throughout the year. We were assisted by a well-trained, and highly enthusiastic group of Student and Parent Ambassadors who gave tours, helped to host events, and visited with prospective families and students. Our collective efforts resulted in strong enrollment numbers throughout all four Divisions.

Annual Fund
The All Saints’ Annual Fund is one of only four funding streams for the operating budget in addition to tuition, endowment and other miscellaneous revenue. It is by far the single most important fundraising effort for our School each year. The entire All Saints’ community, from Faculty and Staff and Board of Trustees to Parents, Grandparents, Alumni, Parents of Alumni, Vestry and Special Friends, makes a significant impact on our School with their generous gifts to the Annual Fund.

The Annual Fund runs each year from July through June. The 2011-2012 Annual Fund raised $710,496, supporting professional development for faculty and staff in every division, technology upgrades, library enhancements and interactive learning tools for the classroom and significant support for the operating budget, allowing us to end the school year with a 1.5% surplus – a balanced budget!

Striving for 100% Participation
All Saints’ is a very giving community. The Annual Fund receives gifts ranging from $10 to over $30,000 from Faculty/Staff, Board of Trustees, Parents, Alumni, Parents of Alumni, Vestry, Grandparents and Special Friends. Every single gift is important and appreciated. One of the most affirming trends at All Saints’ is that our Faculty/Staff, Board of Trustees, Alumni Association Board and Vestry traditionally achieve 100% participation. Our Parent participation is historically lower - 78% in 2011-2012. Why is 100% Parent participation emphasized so much? Above all, it means additional resources to fund our operating budget, and 100% participation is also a symbol of maturity and credibility. Some of the most seasoned and prestigious private institutions nationwide and in our area achieve 100% Parent participation in their Annual Funds. Furthermore, when funding is sought from outside sources for capital campaigns, 100% participation displays strength of financial position and community loyalty.

The Booster Club promotes School spirit, character development and the physical well-being of students through financial and other forms of support for physical education and athletic programs in every Division. The collaborative effort of coaches and parents allows our students to emphasize sportsmanship and excel in the highly competitive Southwest Preparatory Conference, teaching them the value of hard work and complementing their efforts in the classroom. All Saints’ 60th Anniversary
In the fall of 2011, the 60th Anniversary Committee began thoughtful discussion regarding the various ways our School community would celebrate our 60th Anniversary. The Homecoming Picnic kicked off our Anniversary, followed by a special All Saints’ Day ceremony in the Chapel and a luncheon, which was held on campus for the first time. The Alumni Association celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the Upper School with an 80’s themed party held in the Martin Gym. The culminating event was the 60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Gala held at the Renaissance Worthington Hotel. Thank you to all who made this special year more remarkable!

Homecoming Picnic
On Friday, October 21, more than 800 students and their families, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents special friends, faculty and staff joined together near Hawkins Field before the All Saints’ Homecoming football game against Fort Worth Country Day. Each Upper School class decorated a spirit car, and a stunning display of fireworks wowed the crowd at half-time. The Saints were victorious over the Falcons – 42-7.

The All Saints’ Story
In 1951, All Saints’ Episcopal School was founded as a pre-school in the undercroft of All Saints’ Episcopal Church. In celebration of the School’s 60th Anniversary, a video series of twelve chapters was produced to memorialize the historic evolution of All Saints’ Episcopal School. The allstar cast included former and current students, parents, faculty, Board members and friends of All Saints’. On September 7, a Cast Party was held to preview the All Saints’ Story chapters and thank all participants, on and off screen, for delivering a gift that will forever tell of a journey unlike no other.

All Saints’ Day
Each November 1, an All Saints’ Day solemnity is held in the All Saints’ Chapel to honor all Saints, known and unknown. As is customary for our School, Saints Awards are presented during this special service, and a luncheon for award recipients immediately follows. On this 60th Anniversary All Saints’ Day, Saints Awards were presented to Paula Baker, The Burnett Foundation and Kimbell and Mitch Wynne.
Paula Baker:
Paula Baker dedicated 31 years of her life to ensuring that every child at All Saints’ Episcopal School received the care and compassion needed to keep the community happy and healthy. Head of School, Dr. Tad Bird, referred to her as “a beacon of light for every child, every day, Nurse Baker was ever-ready with Neosporin and a band-aid; a box for a missing tooth; and, most importantly, ubiquitous loads of TLC! Perhaps her greatest gifts were her calm presence and graceful manner.”
The Burnett Foundation:
The heart of our 103-acre campus bears the name, Burnett Great Lawn, and is the site of our annual Commencement Ceremony as well as daily informal gatherings. It is a beautiful, beloved space that recognizes the generosity and belief Anne Marion and The Burnett Foundation showed All Saints’ Episcopal School in 1996 when the School’s future was unclear. The Burnett Foundation made a generous gift of $1.5 million, the largest gift ever received by the School at that time. Then again in 2000, the Foundation granted a leadership gift of $1 million. It is, without a doubt, The Foundation’s faith in the School that was tremendously instrumental in helping All Saints’ Episcopal School to achieve its current standing as one of the premier Episcopal college-preparatory schools in the Southwest.

Kimbell and Mitch Wynne:
Kimbell and Mitch Wynne’s relationship with All Saints’ Episcopal School spans more than two decades beginning in 1989 when their son, John, enrolled in the Kindergarten class that was held in the undercroft of All Saints’ Episcopal Church. Soon thereafter, we also had the honor of educating daughter Lisa and youngest son, David. From the start, the Wynnes have been active supporters of the School community through their generous gifts, through Mitch’s service on the Board of Trustees and most notably through their courageous leadership role as the initial Chairs of the School’s Building for Character Capital Campaign.

60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee The grand finale of All Saints’ 60th Anniversary celebratory events was held on April 21 at the Renaissance Worthington Hotel. The evening included a Parents of Alumni Pre-Party, a V.I.P. Reception and the big Diamond Jubilee Gala where guests dined and danced the night away. A silent auction was held showcasing classroom projects, faculty creations and special donations. Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers and countless Saints for making our 60th Anniversary so meaningful.

The Advancement Committee works hand in hand with the School’s Advancement Department to best utilize the School’s resources, both human and financial, to further the Mission of the School. This year, the Committee adopted an ambitious goal to develop and implement a comprehensive advancement program that would move All Saints’ to a position of being the top independent school in the Fort Worth area in terms of total private support. Through the efforts of everyone involved, we were successful in developing strategies for keeping alumni engaged, increasing support for our parent auxiliaries, being strategic fundraisers and good stewards, all while celebrating our 60th Anniversary with several community-wide events that honored our past, gave thanks for our present, and moved us forward on the path to a bright future. Capital Campaign
All Saints’ current Capital Campaign, Building for Character: For ALL the Saints, experienced great success last year. Because of the generosity of early support from the All Saints’ Community and the incredible leadership of our Campaign Co-Chairs, Raney & Pete Chambers, Dana & Dee Kelly, Jr. and Linda & George M. Young, Jr., the Campaign raised $10,560,250 by June 30, 2012. The first project completed as part of For ALL the Saints was the Gray Tennis Center. Dedicated on May 1, 2012, the beautiful new center boasts ten courts, each with spectator seating, and a central Pavilion area. The Gray Tennis Center was completed in time for the beginning of the spring sports season and served as the host venue for the SPC Tournament Boys Division I competition. The second project to be completed as part of the Campaign will be the upcoming Dillard Center for Early Childhood Education.

The plans for this Campaign began in 2010 when All Saints’ Board of Trustees established an Advisory Committee to update the School’s Campus Master Plan and conduct a feasibility study to help determine the potential scope of a new campaign. Then in 2011, the Board approved the Committee’s proposal to begin the quiet phase of what has turned out to be a comprehensive capital campaign, named For ALL the Saints. The Campaign continues in the quiet phase.

All Saints’ Open
Tennis Tournament
The 10th Annual All Saints’ Open, hosted by the Alumni Association, was held on Saturday, April 14. This event raises funds for the Kent Henning Alumni Scholarship and Endowment Fund that provides need-based financial assistance to a deserving current student or prospective student who is a child of an alumni and who might not otherwise be able to attend All Saints’ without financial support.
