American Poplar Each wood has its own character.

The most defining characteristic of the hardwood American Poplar is that its trees with straight trunks grow taller than any other hardwood species in the United States and at an incredibly rapid rate. This makes it an extremely valuable and environmentallyfriendly timber.

Poplars grow abundantly in North America, particularly in the virgin cove forests of the Appalachian Mountains. Poplar wood has a very pleasing scent, a pale yellowish to olive green bark, a medium to fine texture, and a straight grain. It ages very well and its strength and versatility make it excellent for furniture-making.

The American Poplar has also been historically used for its astringent, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory medicinal properties.

It is effective in treating intermittent fevers, chronic diarrhea, rheumatoid arthritis, and urinary problems.
