By now you should be aware of recent changes to our ATS freight free on-farm delivery service. Introduced in 2006, the freight free delivery service was initially driven by a change in regulations surrounding agri-chemicals, and was ATS’s way of assisting shareholders with delivery free on-farm. Originally no minimum purchase was required. By and large shareholders have used the service in the manner it was intended, but like anything, there have been some incidents of abuse. That, together with Neal Shaw, Group CEO substantial increased costs caused predominantly by rising fuel and Road User Charge charges in recent years led to an internal review of the service’s structure. After much deliberation ATS decided it was no longer able to offer the free freight service to members in its current form, not only because it was uneconomic, but unfair to those shareholders who did not use the service. From 1 October 2013 the new structure came into play, adopting a user-pays system for orders under $3,000, eliminating the suggestion of cross subsidisation. ATS’s freight free delivery now only applies to individual orders more than $3,000 in value, with delivery to one address. For those orders less than $3,000, ATS is happy to continue to arrange delivery on-farm of your products, but it will be on a user-pays basis with our partner TNL. The delivery service itself remains unchanged and has not been compromised any way because of the changes; we believe the freight service delivery times will improve because of a reduced number of deliveries. Where the freight free delivery service has been a condition of this season’s quoted business, ATS will honour this commitment.

Credit card payment option Don’t forget you can now pay your ATS account by credit card through BNZ. This convenient payment option can create up to 55 days credit depending on when purchases are made during the month. Surcharges for this service apply (1% for regular recurring payments set up between ATS and BNZ and 1.75% for payments made on an ad hoc basis). All surcharges will be charged by ATS to your credit card at the time payments are processed and will appear on your ATS statement. The surcharge shown on your statement will be offset by the credit card payment you have already made. For more information, call the Customer Service team on 0800 BUY ATS (289 287). Is your farm health & safety in order?
Have you returned your pallet? Please return any pallets are charged to ATS as soon as you can. This will ensure you get credited for the pallet return in the season that you were charged for it. Is your Approved Handler Certificate valid? Your Approved Handler Certificate may be expired or about to expire. Please contact Peter Jacob on 03 307 5124 or 0800 BUY ATS (289 287) and he will be able to help you with the renewal process.
Moving address? If you are moving address please let ATS know so we can keep our database up to date, and to make sure you don’t miss out on any information mailed.
Today’s farmers and land owners are required to actively manage all aspects of health and safety around the farm. To assist with this process Ruralco plans to provide cardholders with access to a farm safety manual and relevant training. Upon completion of the training, members will be able to apply for a discount on their ACC levies.
If you need to have a Ruralco Card or Mobilcard cancelled please let us know. Simply cutting the card up means it can’t be used, but it will still be active in our system and a replacement will be generated when it expires. For more information call 0800 BUY ATS (289 287).

Simplify your fuel costs It’s everything ATS members appreciate and more. The only change for members is that your Ruralco Card replaces your old ATS Card. The rules around its use remain the same. If you have not received your Ruralco Card yet or need extra cards for your account, please contact ATS on 0800 BUY ATS (289 287). The Ruralco Card is accepted at Mobil Service Stations throughout New Zealand. However, currently there are some Mobil Service Stations that have unattended payment terminals for after-hours purchases, or on their Truck Stop pumps. Ruralco is currently working to enable you to use your Ruralco Card at these terminals. We will advise you when this is complete. In the meantime purchasing fuel at these Truck Stops and unattended payment terminals you will need a Mobilcard (either an ATS Mobilcard or a Ruralco Mobilcard).
