STUART BONSER CHAIRMAN'S WELCOME

Good afternoon and welcome to the NFU

Sports Ground for today’s game against Bilston and may I extend a warm welcome to all the players and officials from Bilston who visit us for the first time.

Before today’s game we will be observing a minutes applause for the legendary Charlie Tissington Snr who sadly passed away a few weeks ago. As you will see from the articles in the programme, Charlie Snr (father of Charlie Jnr) was instrumental in the foundation and progress of Ashby Ivanhoe FC in the days when the teams played at its Hood Park home. For those of you that knew Charlie I am sure you will have your own memories. The Club President, David Morris, will be leading the pre match dedication to Charlie and please be upstanding and show your applause for a true legend of Ashby Ivanhoe FC.

The results of late have been mixed with

a disappointing exit from the FA Vase amongst one and I’m sure the players will have recognised that the opportunity to progress was missed against a Romulus side that really didn’t prove that they were a level above, but should give the players the confidence to know that the level above is

not as challenging as maybe once thought.

Onto today’s game and another test for the players and all I can do is ask we get behind them and hope we enjoy a good game.

Ps – if you are visiting the ground by car please DO NOT OBSTRUCT the junction to Cambrian Way by parking on the grass/ path verge as this is both dangerous and you could get a fixed penalty notice from the Council and or Police.
