Product Overview
Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is a flammable mixture of various hydrocarbons, which majorly consists of
propane and butane. LPG is a colourless and odourless gas. Moreover, LPG emits less amount of CO2 as compared to petrol or diesel, and is also more effective as a fuel in automobile. LPG is produced by processing natural gas by refrigeration and from crude oil refining plant by using a distillation tower. LPG is transported through pipeline, by ship in Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGC) and by rail in ISO tanks. ISO tank containers are vessels used for LPG storage purpose and they are built according to ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standards.

Product Overview
Properties of Liquefied Petroleum Gas LPG is about twice as heavy as air at normal temperature and pressure and has half the density from that of water. The density of LPG varies from approx. 0.53 to 0.58 gram per cubic centimeter at 15 o C. LPG is colourless in both liquid and vapour phase. And as LPG is heavy in comparison to air then during the time of any leakage the gas gets accumulated on the floor which can be dangerous. Since it has no odour, Ethyl Mercaptan is added to it as a stanching agent which helps in detecting any gas leakage. LPG in liquid phase acquires about 1/270 times space than that in gaseous phase. Hence 1 litre LPG (Liquid phase) is equal to 270 litre LPG (Gaseous phase). Properties
