Volunteer sign ups have begun and you should register quick! Like last year, we will be setting up a water station in the course and handing water to the runners that come by. Our shift will be by Hollywood Blvd. west of Bronson Ave. near the Capitol Records Tower in Hollywood. We are assigned to show up at 6:30 AM up until 11:30 AM where we will be breaking down the water stations and help clean up the liter on the side walk. Go to the following link in order to sign up with our division which is Division 25 West Key Club and enter the following password: thailand. Yes, I know it’s random but that’s the password. Here’s the link: http://www.doitsports.com/volunteer/join-protected-group.tcl?event_id=221

Sign up ASAP! As spots are limited, we need to make sure that you get your spot to volunteer at this event! Remember, SIGN UP ASAP! And yes, we do have to be there by 6:30 AM as there is a lot of work with setting up in time for the world class runners who will be running by earlier than you would expect. So come help out at this exciting event we as a division participate in every year! It’s a great event and it is fun competing with each other to see who hands out the most water.

District Convention 2010

Division 25 West Banquet

For those of you attending DCON, please note that you will have to pay for your advisor’s way and don’t forget to get ready to pay for bus costs. Remember, I need the final count of how many members are going to DCON this year from each of your club. This information is vital to ordering our buses and for everything to run smoothly. So please, a prompt response is much appreciated! Also note that I will be selling spirit packs which will be highly recommended that you buy and bring some extra money in case you want souvenirs and extra food. It’s going to be one interesting DCON and I’m excited for those who are going! Also don’t forget that we are supporting two of our candidates for two executive positions! Iris La for District Secretary and Elijah Kang for District Tech Editor. Let’s cheer these two on for their quest on the executive position!

I actually have a place for banquet this year! It will be located at the Marriot Hotel in Warner Center! That’s not too far for everyone! We will be served with a full course meal and provided with a dance and the whole sha-bang. I will be giving out awards and giving a final farewell speech as well. This will be our first official banquet as a division and the cost is not as high as you would think. For everything I have mentioned, tickets are only 35 bucks. Expect the price to drop as I fundraise for banquet! I want it to drop at least 10 dollars so that a lot more people can go! So please, start advertising banquet. The following dates can be possible banquet dates: June 19th and June 26th. Presidents please let me know which date will yield more members to come to banquet! I need at least 100 people there and no less! So please come to celebrate the end of the Key Club year and to honor all who have contributed a bunch of work and not to mention just to have fun! Hope to see you all there!

Presidents! Don’t forget to sign up at least 2 delegates from your club! This is VERY important! Don’t forget to also check your check lists for anything else you need to do for DCON registration! We want everything to run smoothly so please check it often and make sure you know what you’re doing! I’m always here to help if you ever get lost!

FEBRUARY Help Haiti AND Chile

I know. Everyone’s tired of donating money to help earthquake victims. Right? Wrong. People in Haiti and Chile are tired of waking up in ruins. They’re tired of not having enough food, not enough clothes, not enough water. We have so many things that we take for granted, and giving up something small, like your daily Starbucks coffee, can go a long ways for those in need. Please, think about those less fortunate than we are. As Key Clubbers, as members of our community, as humans, it is our obligation to help them. DCONDCONDCONDCONDCON

DCON is THE Key Club event of the year. You don’t want to miss out on this awesome, extraordinary, four-times-in-alifetime event! Elect the new Executive Board, hang out with Key Clubbers from all over California, Nevada, and Hawaii, and have fun! Truly experience Key Club on the District level. Early registration deadline has passed, but it’s still not too late to pay for late
