How to Make Millet Cookies?

Ingredients

• 1 cup of millet flour • 100g butter (preferably unsalted) • 1–2 tbsp milk • ½ cup sugar • 1 tsp baking powder


Preparation

• First of all, you will have to roast the millet on a very low flame. Roast it for two-three minutes. After it is slightly hot to touch, leave it until it cools down. • Cut the butter in small cubes and place them in a refrigerator until later.


• Take the butter and grease the tray with it. Keep it ready to use further. • Before baking, let the oven preheat for about 15 minutes at 180° C. • Now you have to sieve the millet and baking powder together. In case you are using wheat flour, add ½ cup of wheat flour + ½ cup of millet flour + 1 tsp of baking powder. Sieve them all together.


Method • Mix the butter with the millet flour that has been sieved earlier. The texture should look like breadcrumbs. • Add powdered jaggery and mix. • Now make the dough by adding milk carefully. • Now, out of the dough, carefully make small balls and shape them by flattening with your palm.


• Put the shaped dough in the preheated oven on a tray that is greased at 180℃ for about 20 minutes. • Place the prepared cookies and let them cool on a wire tray. After cooling, store in an airtight container. Your millet cookies are ready to serve!
