Current happenings spelling bee
Please congratulate AJ Chammes, Annika Samuel and Riley Schloss on their top three finish in this years spelling bee. Some of the final words included: interlocutor, auriferous and ecclesiastical. Thank you to Mrs. Ragan, Mrs. Ripley and Mrs. McGahey and all contestants for their hard work!
Current happenings
Former student, Phillip, and his mom Cyndi spoke at FCS Friday morning to kick off the Phillip’s Wish Warming Homeless Hearts Drive through T3 classes this week.
Mrs. Ragan hosted another successful Scholastic Book Fair this year in the library.
Current Happenings
The robotics and military clubs invited guests from the North Richland Hills law enforcement to bring two robots that are used by the bomb squad to investigate and defuse explosives. Such a cool hands-on learning experience!
Showcase classrooms Ms. Hunter and Mr. Oliver teamed up to plan a cross-curricular assignment for their creative writing and art classes. Writing students witnessed their descriptive pieces come to life through illustration as well as used art to inspire more writing.

Mrs. McDaniel’s 8th grade science students discover the HR diagram through inquiry and hands-on experience by manipulating data in the hallway. The students loved working cooperatively!

7th grade science students enjoy using their knowledge of genetics and applying it to build a “Martian�. After drawing alleles from the gene pool dominate and recessive phonotypes lead the creation.

7th grade math students in Ms. Salinas class create their own manipulatives and then use them to model algebraic equations. Students gained a deep conceptual understanding of equations rather than just procedural.
