Current happenings

You gotta check out the art hallway this week!! Mr. Oliver and Mrs. Gardner’s class are working on a masking tape mural to learn how perspective is used to create depth!

Current Happenings ITS NOT TOO LATE!! Want to help show students how reading is a life-long skill? Ask Roberts for one of these signs and one will be delivered to you! AVID students in Mrs. Morrison’s and Mrs. Helm’s class participate in group tutorials every Monday and Wednesday. All inquiry based and student lead! WOW!

Showcase classrooms: Continuous improvement

Ms. Espinal’s math students worked together to write class mission statements and then signed them to show year-long commitment.

SHOWCASE CLASSROOMS: Continuous Improvement

Mrs. Winkley uses a Status Check as a formative assessment of student learning on Geography, Regions, and Native Texans.

As an exit ticket, math students answered the question, “ What can I, or Mrs. Jones, do differently to be ready or prepared for the test? Afterwards, Mrs. Jones shared the results in her parent email.

Showcase classrooms To understand the parts of an atom, Ms. Charlie’s students create a model of the proton, neutron and electron makeup.

Students in Mrs. Salan’s class participate in a fun, competitive vocabulary game. When she calls out the English word, the first student to point to the Spanish word, wins the point!

Mrs. Coyne’s Theatre Productions class reading a play "kindergarten" style! Mrs. Coyne says, “They were so motivated in reading a play on their own without me even telling them to!”

MORE SHOWCASE CLASSROOMS

GTT students in Mr. Q’s class test their Skimmers to discover the importance of aerodynamics and exact measurements.

In Mrs. Winkley’s Pre-AP classes, students set up museum displays, including artifacts, on each Native Texan Tribe.
