Hello, I’m Ashlee Paul. I graduated from The Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, class of 2011. I majored in Communication Design. I absolutely love design, and I have a slight obsession with photography. By incorporating both into my work I set myself apart from other designers. I am never done learning, and I am constantly striving to improve my work. Whether its designing a magazine spread, national campaign, or a 3D package, I love it all. Thanks for taking the time to be a part of my design work. Here you will see work I have done over the past four years of my college career. From individual to group projects, its all here!

branding When branding it is important to consider all aspects of the company. What type treatment would be a good representation of the over all brand? By sketching, and experimenting with different looks, a wide variety of marks are created. I am never done branding myself, but for now you can see my most current personal branding.

capture cards Being able to describe yourself in a few short sentences is something that could capture some ones attention right away. By combining typography and photography to encompass who I am as a designer and a person; I printed a set of 12, double-sided cards on 70 lb. linen paper, mounted between chipboard, with rounded corners on all the cards.

business cards Having the ability to take your business mobile is huge. With a simple business card you have the opportunity to draw some ones attention with the design of the card. Ensuring people remember who you are, and how they can contact you is everything.

package design By taking design to a three-dimensional product, you have the ability to open your design capabilities to the next level. Taking into consideration every aspect of the product allows for the small details to set your product a part form others.

typography I believe type can make or break a project. Without the correct typography, your piece is less impactful. By sketching, scanning and using the pen tool to create a typeface, you can deliver a one-of a kind product that can brand an entire product.

the union Creating a unique advertisement can really draw your audience in. Making something that is one of a kind can really set the mark for how your company is remembered. Shown is a poster set that were designed for a group project, ‘the union’. The Union was a group designed for students to pitch their ideas for grants to better RMCAD.

inspiration Looking back at past graphic designers for inspiration is always a good way to learn the roots of the design world. By looking to these classic designers, one gains a better understanding of what makes a piece successful or not. Designers such as Neville Brody, David Carson, Saul Bass, and Jessica Hische have been such an inspiration to me.

beyond color My heart has always gone out to non-profit/mission design work. So I wanted to brand my own non-profit. This was more then just a task to ask for money, i wanted to create a movement. Focusing my efforts on the problem in Tanzania, Africa; people who are albino are being killed due to the belief that their limbs, bones and skin will bring the natives good luck. They are often killed in the wee hours of the night, with an arm selling upwards of $500 dollars. With the average income at just under a dollar a day, the hunt for albinos will continue. By branding materials that could be sent to teachers and doctors, the relief effort goes out to more then just someone who is going to donate a dollar, but someone who can dedicate their knowledge to the cause.
