ELLE DANIELLE FOUNDER BIOGRAPHY Elle Danielle has always been accustomed to fresh beginnings and building new

communities. Before graduating high school, Elle lived in 10 different states because her

mother served in the United States Air Force. For her college education, Elle chose to attend the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill where she majored in political science with a minor in social and economic justice.

Elle decided to further her political science education by attending Cumberland

School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama. She excelled in the program by achieving the rank

of Caruthers Legal Writing Fellow as well as earning the highest grade in four of her classes. Her academic excellence in law school came from her drive to make the world a better place through the legal system. After finishing law school, Elle was hired by

Carr Allison LLC to practice family law. She chose to work in family law because saw it as a

tangible way to help society and could practice it without needing extensive administrative support. Elle was passionate about helping families but a majority of

the cases she worked on involved complicated divorces which proved to be emotionally tolling and stressful. After taking her own family pictures with a professional

photographer, Elle set out to improve her photography skills. She bought her first camera

to take pictures of her son Greyson and immediately fell in love with being on the opposite side of the lens. Elle decided to officially quit her job at the law firm and decided to pursue photography as a career path.

Years later, Elle’s photography business has grown into a national brand. She shoots

weddings, engagements, and lifestyle portraits. Her work has been featured in bridal magazines and lifestyle websites, which has led to clients from around the country

requesting her services. Elle works mostly in the South, but has traveled abroad to Mexico

and Jamaica to shoot destination weddings. She is unique from other photographers in the way she relates to her clients in a personal manner, striving to build an individual relationship with each one.

In addition to her successful photography business, Elle seeks to utilize her law

background and begin “Ellements” as a photography and creative and consulting business. Newly relocated in Auburn, AL, Elle is dreaming to expand both of her photography and consulting businesses to the area and continue serving clients from around the country. “I enjoy being able to capture raw emotion from my clients,” said Elle. “Getting

clients to be comfortable enough to show genuine emotions in front of a camera is a result of having a personal relationship with me, which makes it all worth it.” -###-

The 5 Golden Rules for Photography Business Entrepreneurs It seems like in 2014, everyone has access to digital cameras and basic photo editing computer applications. Check any teenager’s smart phone and chances are that they have attempted to take artsy and unique edited photos to post on Instagram. However, even with the rise of technology making photo editing more available, nothing can replace the services and talent that a professional photographer can provide. Knowing how to find the right lighting to make the subject appear almost angelic or editing a photo in a natural and timeless manner, are skills that come with years of training and experience. Most photographers focus on perfecting their artistic talents and often neglect to foster the business side of their brand name. Here are the five golden rules that photographers should abide by when trying to expand their business. 1. Understand your market. For any business it is important to understand the market and target audiences you are trying to reach. Are you the only professional photographer in the area? What is the demographic layout of your geographic location? What ages or people groups are you trying to appeal to? It is crucial to decide what kinds of customers you are striving to

appeal to, because target marketing is more efficient than trying to market to the general public. For instance, if your target market was high school seniors looking for graduation portraits, you should feature more photographs of people rather than landscape photography you may have done.

2. Create your business plan and marketing strategy. Once you have established your target market, create a detailed business plan of what you plan to do to reach those markets. Research the ways in which marketing methods would be effective for your budget and that would appeal to your potential clients. Visiting a creative consultant firm is extremely beneficial when you are working to start a business for the first time. They can help you understand modern marketing strategies, and what is most time efficient and beneficial. 3. Establish pricing methods and keep it consistent. Before you meet with your first client, you should already know the criteria in which you will charge your customers for. Having a written and official document describing your pricing methods in detail is important to provide your clients with before they agree to do a session with you. Having different pricing packages that appeal to different customers is beneficial because you can tailor to each one’s specific needs. 4. Come up with a financial plan and professional payment system. Setting a strict budget and adhering to it is essential to the success of any business. Knowing what your profit is on average each month will help you specify what you can spend on new equipment, editing software, or training courses. Again, visiting a consulting firm to help you come up with a professional and detailed financial plan is extremely beneficial.

5. Provide outstanding customer service. Photography is a unique business because the entire purpose is to highlight beauty in your clients or subjects. Building personal relationships with clients you are shooting can be the key to capturing excellent photographs. When a client is comfortable enough around you to show real and genuine emotion, your photographs will be that much more beautiful and realistic. If a client can leave a photo session feeling like they have just gained a new friendship from their photographer, then you have completed your job well. Following up each session with a hand-written thank you note also makes a lasting impression. Clients are much more likely to refer your services to someone else if they have had a positive experience with you.
