ZEN + WORK SENIOR THESIS course level Senior course Interior Design Studio IV project description The project is designed with own concept from various research throughout the semester to come up with distinctive and unique design to create an interior design senior thesis. concept The thesis for the commercial office interior space is started with the research of the effect on nature contact on employee health and stress by using methods of cross-sectional study, nature contact questionnaire and perceived stress questionaire surveys to 1,5000 desk workers in Southern California. The result was that employees with nature contact made much more work productivity and the workday nature contact increased, perceived stress and general health complaints decreased. It is designed to incorporate most nature contact and by applying japanese Z en culture to promote employee health and reduce stress potential. The design direction came from utilizing existing materials to divide each spaces for each area function.

course level Senior course Retail Design project description The PAVE’s Student Design Competition is based on designing a pop-up store that not only represents the client’s elegant image, but also provides for a practical and functional space integrating the use of modular systems that fit into any standard 1,000 sp. ft. spatial configuration. The store design planning category, challenges the student to design a 1,000 sq. ft. space that speaks the clients language and offers the experience of the makeup retail without the permanency of the complete Sephora store. concept The design direction is inspired by the groove of female silhouette shape form to emphasize feminism as the brand’s target to provide with sophisticated and elegant atmosphere; built in wall shelves and freestanding display fixtures control customers traffics in order to have private traffics.

HARTMAN HOTEL HOSPITALITY DESIGN course level Senior course Interior Design Studio IV project description The project is to design and preserve historical hotel building located in downtown Columbus, Ohio; a landmark historical preservation building. concept From the research of the Hartman building, the building first built in 1898 and was closed in 1920 due to numerous incidents especially with elevator accident. The design direction came from the history of Hartman building; the concept is to bringing the life it missed to make a distinctive boutique hotel with ambiance of 1920 era.
