The Green Line is a pedestrian and bicycle route as long as seven kilometers. It is proposed to connect the remote residential district of Sykhiv with the city center, running through important urban locations along the way. The Green Line is to solve two urban issues: the one of mobility and the other of the city green areas improvement, access and usage.
In terms of mobility, the Green Lines purpose is to ensure a coherent connection between the district and the city center, to provide a variety of local connections, and finally, to become a fully fledged element of transport infrastructure.
In terms of green areas’ accessibility and attractiveness, the Green Line has to run through interesting locations that previously unknown to citizens. It is also meant to become a trigger for suburban cycle routes development and walking practices beyond the city limits along the railroad.
