That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life; That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations; That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise; That government should be of laws rather than of men; That earth’s great treasure lies in human personality; And that service to humanity is the best work of life.”

JCI VISION

“To be leading global network of young active citizens.“

JCI MISSION

“To provide development “opportunities that empower young people to create positive change.”

Editor’s Note Dear Readers, You’ve probably heard this line before, “JCI Manila Never Stops”, and it is remarkable how our beloved chapter still achieves to be relevant even during these trying times. Aside from the many projects focused on helping our countrymen, what I fondly remember about our chapter are the unique but enjoyable activities that kept our members engaged throughout their JCI careers. It would be near impossible for a JCI Manila member to not find something enjoyable to do with his brothers. This issue will show us how, despite the pandemic, this year’s engaging and fun-loving, Membership Development Directorate, led by Director Victor “Vic” C. Queyquep and his squad were able to reinvent and to give a FYOU or For You Experience for everyone in JCI Manila. Relive and let the good times roll!

Director,

JCI Manila, the University of Leaders. Our greatest legacy is not the programs or projects we have done, nor the awards we have won. It’s the leaders we have become. As we usher into our Diamond Jubilee as the First in Asia, we continue to be faithful to the testament of our First President and the Father of Philippine Industry, Amb. Ramon V. Del Rosario, that JCI Manila is all about leadership development. Despite the pandemic, we continue to develop the best leaders from our 515 strong membership. We have created innovative ways and means and have pushed the envelope, but yet ensure that the safety of our members shall always remain paramount in this new and better normal. Through our Recovery Program in our Lead as One platform, we have created the Care group program that would take care of our members’ welfare, present to them the development opportunities, and keep them activated and in touch as well with the chapter. This program is a work in progress, but it sets a practical avenue in engaging the most, especially when in-person events are feasible. Furthermore, we have also created together with the Business Directory to help our members recover and the Coavaxcin Inoculation purchase though had an unexpected delay due to the Delta variant surge in India will still be offered to interest members upon its availability. We also have produced and innovated our e-sports and outdoor programs despite the limitations of physical contact sports. Likewise, we have our JCI Manila Mobile Legends League 5&6, the CS-GO League 1&2, the Checkmate. Not to mention even hosting the Metro Manila ML Cup.

In addition, we also have created our Ride and Run program, which was used for a Tree Planting activity with other JCI LOs. We even had a breakfast run through our car club, where we have activated our 4x4 Club and have done the logistic run in preparation for OD. We also have had 5 ULOs and Launchpads to date with 91 recruits. Not only that, but we have 38 active Baby Jaycees, all of which we hope to be regular by the end of the year. Likewise, we also have created a mentoring program through the Talk to a Champion program, which has had 5 series. This legacy program bridges the gap between our elders and the growing young membership. We’ve also done NBA (3) and F1 Watch (9) parties, fitness sessions, and mental health talks. We had a Badminton Tournament as well as we have tried to push the envelope with safety. Furthermore, we will continue to do so by following the IAFT-EID guidelines and with safety as paramount. Finally, we had a Bible and Basketball 4 legs and a Disaster response seminar for families. Through the leadership of our Director for Membership Development, Victor Emmanuel C. Queyquep, we have made innovative and interoperable activities in members’ welfare and benefits; membership growth in e-sports, wellness, and fitness, in family involvement and safety, in hobbies, in-keep and growing our brotherhood despite all the pandemic challenges.

Areacon Titan award, NatCon Temiong and Best of ghe Best award. They are the recognition of the hard work and dedication put into the planning and implementation of an on-site project in the middle of the covid19 pandemic. The sanitation project is a way for me to help the chapter and the community. This gave me more opportunity to collaborate and get to know other JCI members nationwide —new friendships are also built. Its hard to give actually the most memorable experience because everything is memorable when you’re a JCIM member.

CS: GO SEASON 1

By: alexander Bryan Go “Let’s move out!” The Inaugural season of CS:GO league ran from June to August 2021. CS:GO, the fourth installment, under the Counter-Strike franchise, was both nostalgic and engaging to our JCI brothers. A staple in gaming since the early 2000s, CS was the perfect game to play with our brothers, especially the associates and senators of our chapter. More importantly, the CS:GO League served as an additional outlet for our brothers to unleash their competitiveness and foster their camaraderie. Both new and current players took part in a series of events such as: Fundamentals Training Session by a European Pro, Exhibition Matches between JCI Manila and other CS:GO clans, Draft Night, Regular Season, All Star Break and Playoffs. A total of 33 players were part of this season and BOD 21 emerged champions of this season. While Bryan Santos was named MVP. With the success of this league as well as the crowd favorite, Mobile Legends, the future of JCI Manila’s E-Sports Scene looks bright!
