Introduction Introduction WE ARE ALL SCIENTISTS! We play. We explore. We poke around and stir things up. We try something new to know what will happen because Science is messy. Children are introduced gradually to basic scientific concepts that will provide a framework for understanding and connecting many scientific facts and observations.

About The Book In Emergent Learning kindergarten Science, children will be introduced to science concepts that build upon what children already know which enables them to connect to new concepts and skills. These concepts are taught using age-appropriate interactive activities. In this book, we will focus on three basic science concepts Physical Science, Life Science and Earth Science through simple science-related activities that children can do at home or in the community. Children will investigate and experiment with tools. The Physical Science will enable students how to describe objects and sort them by their physical properties. In the Life Science, students will observe and investigate plants and animals. In Earth Science, children will investigate and observe features of the Earth and its atmosphere. New vocabulary has been introduced to describe the characteristics of rocks, soil, water, and weather conditions in `a student's surroundings as they play. Supporting children as they develop scientific thinking during the early childhood years can lead children to easily transfer their thinking skills to other academic domains which may support their academic achievement and their sense of self-efficacy.
