Good Background Bembo has a remarkable history
Bembo was originally named after the Venetian poet, Pietro Bembo. In order to publish his work “De Aetna� in a gorgeous way, a famous publisher, Aldus Manutius decided to introduce a new typeface to accomplish this task. He picked a typeface cut by a Venetian goldsmith, Francesco Griffo, who became the punch cutter for Bembo typeface. The first publication of Bembo was in 1495 and its elegance and simplicity helped its spread through Europe and throughout history. In 1929, Monot ype t ype designer, Stanley Morison, refined the Bembo typeface, making it fit into contemporary printing. Monotype not only keeps good blood and features of Bembo but also has developed its family. With more than 500 years reliable history credit and development, Bembo has become one of the most countable type family in the world.

Stanley Morison 1889-1967 Stanley Morison was a British typographer, designer and historian of printing. He was one of the most inf luential type-designers of the 20th century, having redesigned the Bembo and designed the Times New Roman typeface (1931) and several historical revivals for the Monotype Corporation.
