Dear Friends, Founded in 2009, Aspen Heights Awake has a simple yet profound vision: AHA is a human development initiative which inspires and equips individuals to awaken their greatest potential. We want to be AWAKE to the needs of local and global communities, inspired to take ACTION, and ENGAGE others to do the same. We believe in local and global action and engagement. We have made significant strides towards our local and global initiatives over the past few years. Below are a few highlights.
PARTNERING WITH AFRICA NEW LIFE AND THESE NUMBERS HAVE FACES, AHA financially supports Aspen Heights Team Members philanthropy by providing a 50% reimbursement on sponsorship of Rwandan students from elementary school through college. Making good on our commitment to change the world through the provision of education.
EACH YEAR AHA CONTINUES TO INVEST IN A BUSINESS INCUBATOR PROGRAM SUPPORTING ENTREPRENEURS IN RWANDA. Not only investing money, but also our time and training to continue growing future entrepreneurs. This effort has led to investments in 3 companies creating economic opportunity and job stability for over 20 families.
IN THE SUMMERS OF 2016 AND 2017, AHA HOSTED A TOTAL OF FOUR INTERNS FROM RWANDA. These amazingly talented men and women were awarded the opportunity to increase their knowledge and experience by working with Aspen Heights staff, returning to Rwanda awakened to new possibilities.
THROUGH THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF AUSTIN, AHA partners with a local elementary school. AHA not only throws seasonal events and carnivals, but also participates in ongoing activities and provides school supplies for over 200 children.
WITH OUR ASPEN HEIGHTS PROPERTY TEAMS, OUR COMPETE YOUR CAUSE PROGRAM encourages local organizations to raise money and awareness for their philanthropy. By engaging with our college student audience, CYC instills the value of lifelong giving.
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
Africa Trip Sponsorship: Cost for Aspen Heights Awake to send trip leaders to Rwanda with Aspen Heights employees.
Local Sponsorship: AHA’s contributions to the Boys and Girls Club of Austin, including: events. school supplies, and donations.
Business Incubator: Each year, AHA visits Rwanda to educate, mentor and invest in an entrepreneur to stimulate local Rwandan economy.
Child Sponsorship: AHA reimbureses Aspen Heights Partner’s employees 50% of the cost to sponsor students through Africa New Life & These Numbers Have Faces.
Internship: AHA welcomes and hosts interns from Rwanda. Global Partnership: Annual donation to Africa New Life.
General/Admin: Administrative costs to keep the ship sailing!
