Political intrigue, divided loyalties, and a treacherous assassination plot take center stage in this dramatically complex work, completed just before Mozart's death and boasting a rich score indicative of the composer's maturity. Open to Passholders

Each summer, the classical world’s top professional performers, revered instructors, and exceptionally talented young musicians gather in Aspen for a very special combination of education and performance. Masters share their wisdom; students bring an inspiring freshness and joy. The resulting experience is powerful and unforgettable. The 2017 season, following the theme of Enchantment, will bring together an array of thrilling artists, as well as works that span the classical repertoire from Baroque to “wet ink.” Performers include Renée Fleming, Rufus Wainwright, Yefim Bronfman, Nikolai Lugansky, JeanYves Thibaudet, and Edgar Meyer, among dozens of other top artists; and the season will encompass must-see works like Handel’s Water Music Suite, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, many of Beethoven’s masterful concertos and sonatas, some of Mahler’s great songs, powerful works by Shostakovich, Lutosławski, Ravel, and Schubert, and a dramatic season conclusion with Berlioz’s The Damnation of Faust.
