safeguarding, and everyone has cause to be grateful. I remember Dr Vimal’s first comment to me when I had a go at him on behalf of AVE over some matter or other: ‘if it is worth it, I shall support it’ or words to that effect. (Was there something about a condition being to guarantee a growth in readership...?!) And it seems that support it he did, realising to the full the value of such a publication as a weapon of communication and a builder of community spirit, but wanting to ensure that it proved itself to be deserving. That was in the style of a good educationalist. It was a matter of great pride to him - reported to me many hundreds of miles away - that the show could go on, indeed must go on, in spite of Covid-19. Ave atque vale. Hail and farewell. -David Summerscale, Chairman of the Board of Governors.

When I first met Dr Vimal, he looked like a man who had spent the night on a train. And indeed, just that: he had... Of course, it did not stop him talking. For two hours he barely drew breath, telling a small group of Governors exactly how they should be running the Assam Valley School! So came Dr Vimal to AVS. A man of boundless energy, full of words, yes, but words which did contain a great deal that was pertinent to the improvement of the School and relevant to the main issues affecting educational progress in hard times. Dr Vimal was presented all too soon with the immense challenge of guiding AVS, its teachers, staff, parents and pupils, through the unique experience of a global pandemic. I could only guess from afar what this must have involved, but there is no doubt that AVS could hold its head very high in terms of health, safety and

Life in its various twists and turns often brings us to crossroads from where many roads diverge. Some look foggy, others a little clear and some look impossible to tread! In your own words Dr. Vimal, ‘always choose with your heart’. I am sure you have. In your words ‘trust me, you have made the correct choice!’ From old Bollywood songs to poetry, we had many common likes. Your capacity of being ‘one of us’ was a rare trait amongst Heads of Institution, be it Holi, club nights, drama or Diwali! You would enjoy a party as much as those who crowded around the bar counter. You are a people’s man! In your words ‘I invest in people’. No wonder you have such a large and wellconnected network, which you use for benevolence of others! Remarkable! Talking of benevolence, you took all AVS by surprise! Be it ageing parents, covid patients and life-threatening diseases, you have supported them unconditionally. Perhaps it emanated from your own experience while at The Doon School. What defines you is that you used that experience in your tenure at AVS leaving me overwhelmed! In your words ‘I cannot give you money, but I can give you time’. The kindness you demonstrated towards our UT

workers and the dignity with which you treated them will always be remembered by all in years to come. However, what is also important is that you did not shirk from reprimanding those who played fowl. I liked that too. Being a strong disciplinarian, it is quite after my heart. I can’t get over your one-liners! You mastered it, Be it your Hindi PhD or Hindi movies, you always had the most appropriate ones. I think I once told you to make a list of them and give it to me before I left but that didn’t happen because I left very abruptly. Now you have the time. Make it. I am waiting! In the meanwhile, my favourite one from you … ‘Humein toh apno ne loota, gairon mein kahan dum tha … meri kishti thi doobi wahan, jahan pani kam tha’…. My one liner for you “Aap purush hi nahi…. mahapurush hai.” If that sounds too dramatic, “Tussi ja rahe ho? Tussi na jao!”

When Dr Vimal arrived, AVS was crossing the threshold of change as the school was at the verge of reshaping and reimagining its identity as it enters its 25th year. So the work and the responsibility was cut out for him. However, the real challenge and change lied ahead of him as he navigated the school through a pandemic, which was not only unprecedented in its nature but also in what it asked of him as a headmaster and a leader. And that is exactly when Dr Vimal shines as a leader. His ability as a headmaster to take on a tsunami of challenges in such a short period of time and surf it into the shore with grace and dignity has allowed the school to come out of this pandemic stronger and resilient than ever before. As a part of the 25th batch of AVS, I had the privilege of seeing him up close as a leader but also

had the opportunity to get to know the man behind the scenes. It’s his childlike spirit and his infectious laugh and the stories from his past, that would somehow always find its way into a conversation, is what I will always cherish years down the line. He had a unique ability to make every single student feel like a leader and encouraged a sense of responsibility towards the school. And as someone who has been at the receiving end of this grace and support and encouragement, I cannot imagine what my journey at AVS would’ve looked like. Thank you for your love, laugh and leadership to this school.

I always have and will always consider it a distinct privilege to have served in a transition year under two headships. As a third school captain bears this gift and responsibility, I must take this opportunity to thank Dr. Vimal as a former school captain, for his always unhesitant ear and unabashed warmth; as an alumnus, for his years of service to the Institution that we all love so much. Thank you, Sir, and Godspeed.

Dear Headmaster,

One would wonder what it would feel like to be a part of batch that transitioned from one head of school to another, especially if you were someone who worked closely with the administration and were a part of the prefectorial body. With VKL, it almost felt like a cakewalk. Having established a healthy working relationship with us, VKL was more than just a headmaster. He was a father figure, a parent, a teacher and a guide, playing all the roles to his students and being the finest at it. What I reminisce the most about headmaster are his famous alloo parathe and all the conversations that went with those delicious sunday breakfasts. VKL came to the school at a time when it was in dire need of not just a leader but of an empathetic one, and he filled in those shoes with the utmost love and care for all aviators. -Aakangsha Dutta (Head Girl- Batch of 2020)

3

I carry an exceptional amount of respect and gratitude for what you have done for the school and specially for all the things you did for me. It was my privilege to have known the passionate person that you are. I will always remember to not take myself “too seriously”, “to never underestimate my potential” and “to be grateful”. Thank you lots Sir. -Param Nongmeitham (School Captain, Batch of 2021) It started with a portrait and ended with one too. I remember knocking on the door to give you your first AVE issue and, I left with you handing me the Yearbook. It was a whirlwind of laughter and witty banter and all that remains is fond memories of discussing Ghalib over tea and little hearts. -Anoushka Rabhaa (Editor, Yearbook, Associate EditorAVE, Batch of 2020)

It has been a great experience to work with the Headmaster Dr. Vimal, because he is quite familiar with financial procedures and took initiative for the development of the department. Especially during the crisis of pandemic his guidance and support was

unforgettable. May God grant him every success in his life.

From samosas, pakoras, bare feet in WMH, innumerable publications and theatre rehearsals to CAA, Covid 19, lockdown and 25th year of AVS there are various things for which Dr. Vimal’s era will be remembered but above all what prominently stands out to me is his ‘kindness’ when I needed it the most, in a year of unforeseen challenges. ‘Gratitude’ is one word that can sum up all my feelings at this hour of bidding goodbye. Fare you well Sir and may you always stay happy and blessed as you take the journey of being in the next level of your life.

You have empowered us with the power of knowledge. You have motivated us with the best tutelage. You helped us move ahead with unending motivation. The way you’ve dealt with panicky situations with a calm and composed approach, has been a true sample of inspiration. Best of luck Sir. I hope soon you will have a new workplace and meet new people, but I hope you will cherish the people you will leave behind and the friendship that we’ve built. Thank you for all the support and guidance you provided. Thank you.

Relativity teaches us the connection between the different descriptions of one and the same reality. Before September 2019, I was more or less sorted with my life, I was doing my job as an employee of AVS and was looking after my family. Then a person named Dr.Vidhukesh Vimal entered in life, initially I took him as just as a Headmaster but slowly and very slowly he started influencing my life and my thought process. I started liking him as an orator, I started liking his two liners, I started analysing his actions, the way he deals with challenges in life and people around him. During Founders’ Play practice session I watched him very closely, the way he used to give feedback, the way he used to motivate us, the way he was enjoying directing the play, the way he used to hold the reflection session

before and after every practice session. In one of the meetings he said “ Don’t teach the subject, teach the child” for me it was like a summary of the entire BEd course. With many more incidents and two liners I realized that I am learning passively from his words and actions. I am now in a state of change or transformation, I am reflecting on my teaching, I am learning the philosophy of life, I am learning dealing with people around me , I am learning how to focus only on the good part of any individual and that every person is best in something or other. I am learning to relate and describe the same reality differently.

My memory will be ensconced with “Ek Tha Gadha” And of course chats in whatsApp group about measuring dead bodies. Sound sinister? Well that was the fun in the last two Founders Plays where the headmaster took on a guiding role. We explored hither unknown territory with people coming out of their shell and being on the stage! Question marks on forehead, pony tails and Begum Sahiba! Of course other memories would also include HSMs meetings where I would diligently carry a pen and paper, not just to take notes but to sneakily note down the titles of the books that the Head Master was reading! Overall it was a great learning opportunity and I am eager to see Dr Vimal 3.0 Au revoir!

Mr. Vidukesh, generally called as VKL Sir, has always been a guiding source of mine as I have known him for nearly a decade. He always has his angle of story which matches with the time and is time tested as well. I have always seen him working with his heart, mind, and soul and has given hundred percent. People know him for his jolly and helpful nature and standing with individuals when one needs him the most. His academic and practical knowledge is unmatched, which makes him stand out of the masses. Few people come and go with time in our life but he is such an individual who stays forever.

Covid 19 and Dr Vimal are two names whose relationship can be understood only by me. The story of Covid in boarding school is totally a different entity and AVS has got the right to forever celebrate its success story in terms of sailing through the pandemic successfully. The role and power of words like guidance, support and motivation are best understood during a crisis, and Dr Vimal, I can confidently say that no one could have executed these qualities of a leader, better than you did. Covid came as a surprise to everyone, and no one really knew how to handle it in the best way. At AVS, along with others, the Medical team had this mammoth responsibility. You stood as a constant pillar of support,

and the faith that you had in us, gave us the momentum to carry on and the strength to not give up. Covid 19 has definitely taught me about the management of Covid or Covid like situations; but more importantly, I got a chance to see and learn about the essential qualities of a leader. I feel blessed to have got the opportunity to work under your leadership and I am sure blessed will be all the institutions where you would exercise your leadership; for you are a leader who has the capacity to translate vision into reality. -Dr Dimple Baruah

Our Headmaster, Dr.Vidhukesh Vimal, is leaving us for his betterment in his life. I quote from the International Round Square Conference-2016 hosted by Aiglon College, Switzerland with the theme “Life is the journey that makes us”- joys, growth, learning, success, celebrations, special moments, professional growth and personal development. This goes on and on and never ends. During his short stay in the Assam Valley School, I enjoyed and learnt thoroughly under his guidance and leadership. It is a fact that we met to depart and we departed to meet again somewhere. His honesty in life and commitment to his work is worth appreciating. The lessons that each of us has learnt from him is not written in any book or syllabus. He created a holistic and stress-free environment for the students and teachers. He ensured discipline in a friendly manner and managed this school in the best possible way. He had to face CAA and COVID one after another. He faced all the challenges sportingly and never let problems pull down. When there were troubles, effective solutions resolved the issues. That is why known as a troubleshooter amongst us. I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of his Directed Staff Hindi play on the “25th Silver Jubilee Founders Staff Play 2021” put up by staff. I along with 7 other SLTs colleagues have been one of the fortunate to work with him in this short span of three years in AVS; we got the opportunity, joined hands with him Sir and did everything we could, to make this school successful. It may be reopening of school during COVID-19 convincing the parents by organizing webinars and government agencies on many occasions, parental outreach programmes in different places in the North East of India and Alumni meet-Manipur Chapter and parenting 21st century parents. He has always been like a big support for us, he is approachable, a visionary person, down to earth and a man of principle and most importantly whenever we approached him for any help or support, and he would always extend his helping hands to support all of us. We are going to miss Dr. Vimal a lot; at the same time, we also assure that we will work for our school with the same fervour and zeal and make you feel proud of your staff. A farewell is a celebration to celebrate your success and wish him all the best for his future endeavors. I will always remember his lines: “Use your wisdom” and “You have more than what you think” for taking any action. Good luck and thank you. -Mr. A.S Huidrom, Senior Master-Boys Department

Bringing passion in our work life, with meticulous planning and execution, and at the same time detaching ourselves to de-stress and rejuvenate was one of your unique styles that we all have to learn and imbibe in our work culture. We will certainly miss your one-liners, quotes, shaer-o-Shairee during casual conversation or a meeting heading towards a serious note. In your unique style of leadership, you have always first floated and bought the idea and then given us the complete freedom to navigate through. Your style of delegating the task to SLT members, to HODs, to individual faculty members, and most importantly involving student leaders, had turned the pandemic crisis into a unique cache of opportunities and possibilities. Through this journey, we have now become a better version of ourselves. What began with a panic-struck chaotic staff meeting in the library, we went on to equip ourselves with Google Classroom, shared drive, Zoom meetings, creating and uploading videos, resource materials, google forms, MCQs and so much more. Going from physical to digital to phy-gital, it has been a memorable journey under your able guidance and leadership. Despite our initial resistance and excuses, in a very subtle but persistent manner, you made supervision an integral

part of our system. Lesson and Peer observation have become a norm where feedback is positive and a tool for growth and a platform for sharing best practices. You brought new dynamics to our Review Meetings with SWOT analysis followed by corrective measures. The introduction of Line Teacher concept has given a new dimension to catering to individual specific needs of a child. You are a firm believer of the fact that a School must be System Centric and not People-Centric. I am certain that your valuable insights will always be remembered and practiced till it becomes a part of our system. We will keep in mind your wise words that any change we wish to bring must be system generated. I say this with complete conviction that your tenure, despite the numerous challenges, inflicted not only from within the system but also country and worldwide, where other schools barely managed to survive and sustain, you helped us keep the AVS flag flying high and lead us to reach greater heights. As you move on and continue to inspire others, I wish you the very best in your future endeavours.

It was a pleasure to work with you. The school has achieved a lot in COVID situation due to your vision and hard work. The academics has shaped well and we were able to do well in online, offline classes and in board examinations. I have learned a lot from you and I admire for your ‘common man approach’. Your guidance in careers department has been invaluable and we have achieved a lot under your guidance. The school under your mentorship had a robust professional

development programme in which every staff member was greatly benefitted. It was a pleasure to work with you in Children day skit and in 25 th Founders play. You always took care of us in every possible way and we are grateful to you. I wish you all the best for future endeavours and I am sure you have a very bright future awaiting you in your next venture. With best wishes

Dear Sir , We don’t think that words would be enough to thank you and describe the impact of your support and guidance on us.leaders like you are few and far between. The knowledge, resourcefulness and vision you have imparted to us is a treasure that will remain in our hearts forever, and we promise to pass this wisdom on to our children. We vow to follow on the path of greatness as you said. On behalf of my department , We wish you all the very best in all your endeavours. We will truly miss you. Thank you very much for everything. Regards, Sports Department

To the Headmaster who believed me and gave me the opportunity to prove myself in middle of a pandemic when I had self doubts. The word Thank you would be too less to express my gratitude to you. You were always ready to hear us out no matter how busy you were in your daily schedule. Your enthusiasm for cricket, drama, photography has always inspired all of us. I wish you all the best for your upcoming endeavours. -Mr. Biswajit Buglary

One morning, sometime during the July holidays 2021, my phone rings; after formal greetings the person on the other end asks a direct question “I have come to know that you came back just to drop your mother here; what all arrangements have you made for her safety?” However, I explained that my mother is quite fit, she just wanted to spend some days in open greens but the person on phone convinced me that I must ensure that at least four individuals on this campus, to contact ma on daily basis to ask about her well-being” so this is how our Headmaster Dr. Vidhukesh Vimal was concerned about each individual on this campus. However, I didn’t get to interact much with him but I always found a very friendly, positive, progressive, and encouraging person, who is always open to new ideas. Sir has a gifted quality to connect with individuals on a very personal level. He has a tremendous capacity to handle pressure and to be able to laugh and make jokes during the very difficult time also. I wish him luck and success in all his future endeavors. May he always be happy to spread happiness around. -Dr. Alpana Dey

An orator par excellence, bibliophile, debater, cricketer, hodophile yet what has been your hallmark is the passion that drives you and the honesty with which you endure. ‘A few strike out without map or chart where never anyone has been. From the beaten paths they draw apart to see what no one has seen. There is no chance, no destiny, no fate, that can circumvent or hinder or control the firm resolve of a determined soul.’ Sir, you have not only been an exceptional teacher but also a philosopher and guide. The reminiscences of the wonderful days spent with somebody as sublime as you will live forever. Until next time, in Dr. Spencer Johnson’s words ‘will reflect on the readiness of the cheese to move and then move with the cheese!’

A visionary, leader and educator are the words that would best describe Headmaster. His tenure at AVS, though short, has been nothing but amazing. His smile and energy as he walked around the campus will be missed by all. His love for poetry has inspired many of us to start reading poetry. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; The rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

-Ms. Ishita Malhotra -Mrs. Joyce Macdonald From being called ‘crazy’ to ‘an excited individual’, Dr. Vimal not only saw me grow as a professional but also helped me hone my skills as the Round Square Representative and the HOD English. From disagreements to waging a bet on who shall outdo the other in talkativeness, from small chit chats to hourlong conversations, from being apprehensive to striking a cord as an educator with him, there has been a lot to learn from Headmaster. His dictums like ‘We should teach students and not subjects’; ‘Make choices but be ready to face consequences’, ‘The class is but should not be a teacher’s kingdom that nobody can enter’ and especially ‘Look, use your wisdom’ shall echo in many ears in many ways. I’m sure that wherever he goes, he shall with his loquacious nature charm hearts and influence minds. -Dr. Pooja Jain Benjamin

Dr Vimal was a gentleman who was patience and restraint personified. Indeed he exemplified the values of humanity and empathy in his thoughts and actions. A man of letters and literature, he will be remembered for inspiring the school to rise above challenges and see a silver lining behind every cloud. Remembering him is like the cheer of an old melody : ‘there will be bluebirds over the White Cliffs of Dover’ : days of hope and joy brought to all who worked under his leadership. --Mrs. Tamanna Seth

It’s still hard to believe that you have gone from being my housemaster to my headmaster, from being VKL sir to becoming my colleague. However, throughout this journey sir, you have always remained humble, ever helpful and patient with both colleagues and students alike. Always ready to listen, guide, advice and push us to become the best versions of ourselves. Your eagle will miss you dearly Sir. Ex 145 J -Ms. Anandita A Luther

We don’t have to raise our voice. AVS was your choice. You did your best When the pandemic was on chest. Your love for AVS is pure as dew. In coming times, you will be remembered in the list of few. -Mr. Umesh Singh

Your wide array of skills - paying close attention to things we tend to overlook, recognising capabilities and your fine taste in shayari will be always be appreciated and remembered. Your vision for the school, ‘Good to Great’ shall keep us motivated to work harder. -Ms. Pooja Borah

On behalf of Sunnyside staff we bid farewell to our Hon’ble Headmaster. We can confer him with the title of the ‘Father of AVS ’ as he always referred to every child and young teacher as ‘Bachche ‘ . In his tenure he had established this school with the vision and mission to impart knowledge, education and varied opportunities to all the students in all spheres. Sir would always extend his hands to guide and support all of us at Sunnyside. His departure from here is a sad moment for all of us but we will keep the lessons given by him in our lives. As a homage to the bitter-sweet feeling of farewells, I write to you to express this feeling of the bitterness of seeing you go, and the sweetness of having seen you around. Your presence at AVS has transcended academia and administration, touching the lives of many - as a mentor, a companion, a guide. I write on behalf of everyone, when I say that your absence will be felt and your presence will be missed. Wherever you are, we know that a part of you will always remain at AVS, and wherever we are, we assure you that we will keep your

mentorship afloat...and AVS will always remember you fondly. I have had the pleasure of taking a leaf out of your wisdom, your stories and your kindness. I am fortunate to have grown and shared memories with you. Thank you for being the father figure that you have always been to me, and many others like myself. With best wishes, a heavy heart, a cheerful smile and treasured memories... fare-thee-well, Sir!

I would like to thank you for your constant support and guidance. It was you who gave me encouragement whenever I felt low. I will forever be grateful for all the knowledge and wisdom you shared that made me a better person. Thank you for the aloo parathas and maggi. I will miss you. Be in good health!

People critique those who think differently from them, but that’s not something that Dr. Vimal feared. He stood by his views through thick and thin and brought upon a new perspective amongst both students and teachers. There are a lot of things one can learn from him and getting to work with him was truly a wonderful opportunity and experience. I wish him all the success in the future.

The Headmaster was one of those people who would always take away lessons from all the experiences he encountered. Every time we’d sit down for a discussion he would enjoy bringing up his life stories and sharing his wisdom. Although he spent only a few years at AVS, he won’t easily be forgotten. I wish him well. -Aditi Thekedath (House Capt, Subansiri, Batch of 2022)

To respected Headmaster Sir,

Thank you for your wisdom and guidance. The man with the coziest vibe and posh outlook, wearing double layers and passing his warm smile to every student crossing by, even at the end of a weary day, will be utterly remembered. Sir’s presence and him addressing the students as ‘bacche’ will be missed. We wish Sir the best of luck for his future endeavors.

Dear Sir, Thank you for your dedication and constant service towards this school. On behalf of the Dhansiri House, wishing you best of luck for your upcoming endeavours. May you continue to find great success wherever you may find yourself.

-Pratyush Chandra Basistha (House Capt, Namdang, Batch of 2023)

-Jeevesh Agarwal (House Capt, Dhansiri, Batch of 2023) Your knowledge, vision and wisdom in turning this institute into a place of hope and harmony, holds great importance to our generation. You taught us what we wanted to learn besides what we needed to learn. Thank you for making our educational journey a memorable one. We Jinarians wish you great success and happiness in the future.

As a captain still meandering her way through leadership, Sir Vimal's example is constantly helpful. How does one deal with a pandemic that forces a school to run without students? Sir handled it with the patience, kindness, and determination that inspires me every single day to handle my duties with that same spirit.

-Chesta Nowal (House Capt, Jinari, Batch of 2023)

-Hemadri Purbi (House Capt, Bhoroli, Batch of 2023)

The Manas Family would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to the Headmaster for everything that he has done for this grand institution. We are indebted to his immeasurable work and wish him all the luck in the world for his future!

We are saying ‘goodbye’ to you with heavy hearts, but we will always remember you. Your tutoring and words were the best tools we could ever have to prepare for the future as aviators. The lohit house will miss you greatly. Your vacancy in this institution will be filled by someone else but you are irreplaceable in our hearts. Farewell our dear Headmaster.

Goodbye Sir, I wish we had more time to know each other more and help each other improve as people . Dear Headmaster, It's sad that we have to say our goodbyes so soon. I was certain we would have made an excellent team. As you depart from this place, I wish you all the best in life and for the future. Thank you for being our headmaster. -Alda Nongmeikapam (Head Girl, Batch of 2023) The Headmaster has been a beacon of constant inspiration and support to the school, the unique perspective that he led the school with, will be thoroughly missed. From AVE, to the HM There is in each of us a persona that lies underneath our skin waiting to step out and breathe free. The Headmaster believed in helping people discover their personas so that they could be a better and happier version of themselves. He has such faith in everyone around him, in all that he did and all that he envisioned. His keen eye kept AVE on track and his words of encouragement and promise of fairy lights, kept the Editorial team buoyed. Certain things are characteristics of the Headmaster…the legend VKL, his love for Jaipur House, and the bit of his heart that will now and forever remain a verdant AVS. Au revoir Headmaster. You shall be missed.

Through watchful gaze and unshaken will You guided the valley to our current fill A caring hand with a tough love core We know there were millions of more places to explore But as fast as the wind on the cerulean sky The reigns of tradition pass on, pass by Through plague and fire you did see us through An honor to have served and we now bid thee adieu For it is not the ‘how long’ that matters, only what you do -Jeremy Jahau, Editor-In-Chief (Batch of 2021)

-Ms. Sarmistha Paul Sarkar, Faculty Advisor A storyteller, conversationalist and AVE’s most diligent reader, Dr. Vimal was our go-to person for feedback at work. He left a mark with his ability to keep his calm in times of crisis. He will be remembered for his warm smile, fondness for valleys and the messy stack of books on his table. His presence will be felt even when he’s gone in all the things that he’s inspired us to be. -Tanisha Bhadra, Editor-In-Chief (Batch of 2022) “Bachchey” will forever be etched in my mind bringing back the memoirs of the halls and walls that he walked and spoke changing the aura of the people around him. Thank you for leading us through the tough times, your presence and guidance has led us to a brighter path. -Marwati Imsong, XII The last standing strands of hair that I am so desperately trying to preserve with an unearthly concoction of oils will eventually fall off one day, and when they do, I will remember you, and I will be glad I had something to remember you by (at the cost of my hair?); and then I will remember your stories, for I was fond of them, and your evergreen connection with the colour green; and I will remember trying to keep myself awake in the WMH to listen to your tales, for I really wanted to, but the AC was too nice not to. I wish I could listen to more, and maybe I will, at a later date, when I’ll find my way to you, and you have more in store for us. Till then, I wish you all the health and vitality.

Whenever I get overwhelmed, I take the time to reflect upon what leaders in my life would do. Sir Vimal, you happen to be one of them. Your tenacity and sense of humour in the face of even the harshest of adversities definitely makes you a leader in my eyes. Thank you for leading our school through some of its toughest times. -Kekhriesino Meyase (Editor-In-Chief)

I remember the last day of the first semester I stepped into this school. Dr. Vimal was telling my parents that I had great potential in me, and that it was a joy to see me running about campus. For someone who has always struggled with believing in herself, Sir, your words will always mean so much more to me than you could ever imagine. -Hiyaneijemmy Das (Deputy Editor, AVE, Debating Capt.) It's impossible not to be inspired by your hands-on approach to running things. Yours is an attitude that many students will attempt to emulate. The extremely un-bureaucratic way in which anyone could consult you, whenever, wherever, for whatever made our lives extremely easy. Thank you, for all you've done, not just for the school, but for the community at large. Egredere et prosperare, and farewell. -Donovan Figg (Secretary General MUN)
