From June 27th until July 5th, 2016, with the support of the Erasmus + Youth in Action Programme, Associação Spin hosted and coordinated the international youth exchange "Make it happen!".
De 27 de Junho a 5 de Julho, com o apoio do Programa Erasmus+ Juventude em Acão, a Associação Spin acolheu e coordenou o intercâmbio juvenil internacional “Make it happen!”.
This exchange brought together 25 young people between the ages of 18 and 30, from 5 different countries: Estonia, Israel, Poland, Spain and Portugal.
Este intercâmbio reuniu 25 jovens com idades entre os 18 e 30 anos, vindos de 5 países diferentes: Espanha, Estónia, Israel, Polónia e Portugal.
The main topics were: active citizenship, volunteering and community development. The aim was to sensitize young people from various countries to the importance of voluntary work as an expression of citizenship and solidarity. This exchange was coordinated by Associação Spin and was also supported by the Carnide Council and the local volunteering project “A Nossa Rua” (“Our Street”).
Os principais tópicos foram: cidadania ativa, voluntariado e desenvolvimento comunitário. Com o objetivo de sensibilizar os jovens de vários países para a importância do trabalho voluntário como uma expressão de cidadania e solidariedade, sendo coordenado pela Associação Spin, este intercâmbio contou com a parceria da Junta de Freguesia de Carnide e do projeto de voluntariado local "A Nossa Rua".
Through information sessions and implementation of volunteer activities in the Padre Cruz Neighbourhood, we intended to develop the spirit of volunteering in the young participants, the knowledge of the social problems of this neighbourhood and to create moments of intercultural learning among young people from different countries. The participants bonded with one another and also with the community of the Carnide area. The main activities included street interventions in the Padre Cruz Neighbourhood (cleaning, painting and small renovations), visits to local organizations and associations, as well as moments of reflection and sharing on the topic of volunteering. During the exchange, "before and after" photos were taken of the various intervention sites. Those pictures have subsequently been gathered in a photographic exhibition and in this publication, with the aim of promoting and recognizing voluntary service.
Através de sessões de informação e implementação de atividades de voluntariado no Bairro Padre Cruz, pretendemos desenvolver o espírito do voluntariado nos jovens participantes, o conhecimento dos problemas sociais deste Bairro e criar momentos de aprendizagem intercultural entre os jovens de vários países. Foram criados laços entre os participantes e também entre eles e a comunidade de Carnide. As principais atividades incluíram intervenções no Bairro Padre Cruz (limpeza, pinturas e pequenas renovações), visitas a organizações e associações locais, bem como momentos de reflexão e partilha sobre o tema do voluntariado. Durante o intercâmbio, foram feitas fotos “antes e depois” dos vários locais intervencionados, sendo posteriormente reunidas numa exposição fotográfica e na presente publicação com o objetivo de promover e valorizar o trabalho voluntário.
O voluntariado ĂŠ uma forma de melhor entenderes o mundo e apreciares ainda mais a tua vida.

Fazer voluntariado é como abrir o frigorífico depois da meia-noite. Não sabes bem porquê, mas continuas a fazê-lo.
Volunteering is like opening the fridge after midnight. You dont know why but you do it.
O voluntariado pode servir como um elevador para o paraĂso. NĂŁo tens que ir pelas escadas.
Voluntary work can be like an elevator to heaven. You don't have to take the stairs.
