Oxfam, Save the Children and 20 other partners have just conducted a study on the humanitarian situation in Somalia. This study entitled, “Risk of Relapse: Somalia Crisis Alert”, details the prevailing humanitarian needs in the country. It reveals that at least 2.9 million people are currently in need of humanitarian assistance and 50,000 children are severely malnourished and at death’s door. While many gains have been made in recent months on peace and security, Somali communities still remain only one shock away from experiencing another disaster.
