We cultivate a variety of opportunities for students to engage in research. Over 88% of School of Life Sciences Undergraduate Research (SOLUR) program graduates now pursue STEM careers or further studies in graduate, medical and professional programs.

Krystal Tsosie’s leadership, ASU hosted an Indigenous Data Economics and AI Summit, uniting leaders, academics and innovators to explore data science’s future in Indigenous nations.

Ask A Biologist, backed by a committed volunteer team, serves as a pre-K-12 biology learning resource. In 25 years, it’s answered 40,000+ questions, drawn 40 million+ visitors and aids 7,000+ classrooms yearly.

Celebrating 20 years of integrated discovery about life

This year the School of Life Sciences celebrates its 20-year anniversary. We are honored to serve as the foundation model for the New American University, and to uphold a lengthy history of dedication to ASU’s charter as a “comprehensive public research university, measured not by whom we exclude, but rather by whom we include and how they succeed.”

We enable student success through experience-based course design and increased access to research experiences. We lead the way in online STEM education, expanding academic excellence to a new generation of scholars. We fuse intellectual disciplines as our faculty and students collaborate to conduct use-inspired research in a variety of fields, engaging globally to bring impactful knowledge and solutions to pressing issues throughout the world. We continue to cultivate a culture of inclusivity and diversity, fostering initiatives and research to connect with our community, explore social needs and transform society.
