Inspired by her family’s involvement in the civil rights movement, military veteran Takeisha Russell furthered her education in African-American history to continue to share her culture with everyone.

American Indian studies graduate is ready to be a voice for change in Native American communities and serve Indigenous people in her career.

Leading impact in gender, women and sexuality studies

Our courses explore what it means to belong and fit in this world from the perspective of those whose bodies, ideas and histories are not always included.
