THE BRIDGE BETWEEN NOISE AND PEACE

THE HOUSE IS LOCATED IN THE DEVELOPING ASPERN DISTRICT OF VIENNA. ASPERN, CHARACTERIZED BY ITS CORE, LAKE SEE, IS A LOCATION BUILT AROUND THE LAKE AND IS EXPANDING BASED ON A COLORFUL ARRAY OF STRINGS, WHERE EACH STRING CREATES A PATH OF POSSIBILITIES - SHOPS, CULTURE, GREENERY,... ONE OF THESE STRINGS IS ALSO THE RINGSTRASSE - AN AVENUE FILLED WITH SHOPPING, VIEWS, POSSIBILITIES OF ENJOYING GREEN PUBLIC SPACES, TO WHICH THE HOUSE IS DIRECTLY CONNECTED. THE NAME OF THE HOUSE DIE BRÜCKE - BRIDGE IS BASED ON THE DIVERSITY OF THE FUNCTIONS CONNECTED IN THE HOUSE WHILE MAINTAINING THE QUALITY OF INDIVIDUAL SPACES AND THEIR CROSSINGS. IT SERVES AS A LINK BETWEEN HUMAN NEEDS: WORK AND LIVING, BUT AT THE SAME TIME, IT BRIDGES THE BUSY RINGSTRASSE WITH A QUIET COURTYARD, WHICH IS USED FOR RELAXATION.




THE HOUSE ITSELF IS DIVIDED INTO TWO MASSES CONNECTED WITH A GLASS NECK, ONE MASS WITH A FOCUS ON HOUSING CONSISTED OF MAISONETTES WITH PRIVATE LOGGIAS AND ON A RAISED GROUND FLOOR THERE ARE APARTMENTS WITH GARDENS FACING THE GREEN COURTYARD. THE SECOND MASS, WITH A PREDOMINANTLY WORKING FUNCTION, CONTAINS STUDIOS FACING THE STREETS, AND APARTMENTS LOOKING TOWARDS THE INNER BLOCK. ON THE STREET SIDE OF THE HOUSE, THE GROUND FLOOR IS ACTIVE, THERE IS A GALLERY THAT LEADS UNDERGROUND, AND A SKYLIGHT PEEKING INTO THE QUIET INNER COURTYARD. THE GROUND FLOOR IS FURTHER ENRICHED BY A CAFÉ AND A STUDIO ON THE NORTH SIDE. THE GALLERY CONTRIBUTES TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PURPLE, CULTURAL STRING, AND THE RICHLY OVERGROWN INNER BLOCK CONNECTS TO THE GREEN STRING WITH NEARBY PARKS.
