ASPERN SEESTADT Aspern Seestadt is one of Europe‘s largest urban development projects. Here in Vienna‘s fast-growing 22nd district in the north-east of the city, a new urban centre is taking shape – a smart city with a heart, designed to accommodate the whole spectrum of life. A multi-phase development through to the next decade will see the creation of high-quality housing for over 25,000 people and, eventually, thousands of workplaces. Built on a foundation of innovative concepts and forward-looking ideas, this city-within-a-city combines high quality of life with economic drive and offers something for everyone. The project is special for its urban concept. There are four strings: the green connects parks, the blue is represented by the lake, the yellow one is the main street called Ringstrasse and red connects all kinds of shops, restaurants, banks etc.

SALUT SALUT is a residential building placed with four other strucutres in the Block F13. The construction consists of three blocks that are together shaped like three fingers showing the scout salute. The ground floor provides a public space – Scouting Institute. There are three activity rooms: a flexible room for cultural events or lectures, a café and a workshop room. Visitors can also use the roof for special occassions like concerts or summer cinema. The public space expands outside to the north-west and east and creates two sitting areas, where you can enjoy your coffee. The entrance for residents is situated north-westwards. The upper floors contain eleven apartments for 40 residents – three maisonettes for 4 people accessible from a porch and eight one-storey apartments for 4 or 3 inhabitants. The other amenities of SALUT are the laundry and the common room lighted by cellar skylights and the storageroom in the basement, the bike room on the ground floor and shared spaces on the first and second floor. There is also a roof garden on the fourth floor, where residents can plant their own vegetable and herbs. The whole building is connected by an elevator and a staircase (available only for residents). All in all, SALUT is a combination of the other four buildings in the Block F13. You can visit this place to educate yourself, have a drink with your friends or make a DIY soap.
