8th European Feminist Research Conference: URGENT ANNOUNCEMENTS Solidarity Fund and Extended Early Bird Deadline Dear Conference Participants, We have received a number of mails from potential participants in which they express their concern whether they’ll be able to attend the conference because of financial constraints. As the Conference Organizers, CEU Gender Studies and ATGENDER recognize that these are difficult financial times and that the conference fees, the trip to and stay in Budapest during the time of the conference may pose problems. Thus, with the goal of ensuring that the conference be as equal and inclusive as possible, we have decided to create a solidarity fund for the 8th EFRC to provide support for those participants whose abstract has been accepted for presentation, or who are contributing to the conference in some other way (as poster presenters, round-table participants, chairs etc.), and whose financial circumstances would otherwise render the participation in the conference a prohibitive burden. The procedure for applying for the Solidarity Fund will be soon posted on the websites of both the 8th EFRC and ATGENDER. Please note that only ATGENDER members whose contribution for the conference has been accepted can apply for Solidarity Fund. All those who are not members (be it full, reduced, student, or institutional membership which covers up to 3 institutional representatives) can become members before applying to the Fund (http://www.atgender.eu/index.php/membersmenu/studentoffer). Also, please note that conference participants who have already paid the registration fee and who qualify for the Solidarity Fund are also eligible to apply. Extended Early Bird Deadline In order to make it possible for all applicants to register with early bird rates we are also extending the early bird period until February 28, 2012.
