A pair of parcel-gilt-silver three light candelabrum by Stuart Devlin

Sold for £15,000 plus BP

Welcome! Having worked for a leading international auction house for almost ten years, I decided to open my own auction house in April 2012. Our inaugural sale was a bit of a whirlwind but its instant success demonstrated the need for a professional auction house in the Surrey/Kent borders that offers an exceptionally high level of customer service. Since those early days our auctions have gone from strength to strength and we are now one of the leading auction houses in the South East. Our bi-monthly auctions are diverse and exciting, and in addition to these, we offer single owner and house and estate sales.

are kept well informed and receive the best possible experience throughout the whole process. We want our clients to feel welcomed into the auction world, to experience the path to selling as a seamless process and to be assured that we achieve the best possible outcome.

We pride ourselves on auctioning items from private collections, and have a number of experts and auctioneers covering a wide range of genres from furniture to jewellery, and from oriental to collectables. We have auctioned some incredible collections and unique pieces over the years, and the provision of a professional valuation service is a core element of our business and one of the many reasons why our clients return to us again and again.

In the past ten years we have been privileged to auction some very important private collections and items of museum quality. In this brochure we have highlighted some of our favourite items. We hope to welcome you soon at one of our auctions or valuation days.

We pride ourselves on excellent and personal customer service. The auction world can be daunting for those who are unfamiliar with it and it is imperative to us that our clients

Our team of experts cover a wide range of genres from paintings to jewellery, and we offer a completely free auction valuation service. These appraisals can be carried out by appointment in our consignment offices, and we are also available to visit estates and homes for larger consignments or collections. In addition, we hold a number of valuation days across the South East. Our forthcoming valuation days can be viewed on our website, or email us directly for advice.

We are able to offer a full insurance valuation service. We can arrange for a valuer to visit your home for larger items or collections or, for smaller items such as jewellery and watches, our offices are open by appointment for you to visit. Our valuations are completed with the utmost discretion. We pride ourselves on honesty and transparency and we will always agree our terms with you in advance.

Probate At Catherine Southon Auctioneers & Valuers we are able to offer a full probate valuation service. We understand that organising the estate of a close family member or friend can be a worrying and difficult time. Our expert team work closely with executors and solicitors to guarantee a highly professional service in a prompt sensitive manner. We provide our clients with a written HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) compliant valuation report in accordance with Section 160 of the Inheritance Tax Act 1984.

This appraisal is based upon an open market assessment of current auction values. As auctioneers we are experts in antiques, silver, jewellery and fine art. Should beneficiaries choose to auction items from the estate, our team can assist with a complete sales service, from individual items to complete house clearances. For further information or advice please call our valuations team for assistance.

29 We were delighted with the service received from Catherine and her team, when we invited them to assess and sell some of the contents of my late father’s house. One member of staff, who visited the house, provided a concise and clear assessment of each item, which was followed up with a written report. In addition, he identified some additional items of interest which were added to the consignment. Their carrier service was professional, the items were well presented, and we were delighted with the results of the auction. We are happy to recommend Catherine and her team and will certainly look to use their services in the future. Mr & Mrs V

Clockwise from bottom: A Georgian cluster pendant

Sold for £5,000 plus BP It has been an absolute pleasure having the privilege to get to know Catherine Southon over the last few years. I cannot express just how kind, thoughtful, respectful and caring both Catherine and the rest of her team were when they first came to value my late mother's belongings. As soon as we met her, we had no doubt that she was the right person to assist our family with the sale of some beautiful and very sentimental family heirlooms. Catherine is such a professional, she has incredible attention to detail she really knows her antiques and jewellery inside-out. Catherine worked so hard on our behalf to ensure that the items we entrusted her to sell at her auction house were sold for the best possible price. I feel very fortunate to have had the privilege of Catherine's expertise and cannot thank her and her team enough for their excellent work and professionalism. Caroline J
